I left my 9-5 four years ago, and have been traveling a lot ever since, all while working online. I have had so many epic trips, breathtaking experiences, and met so many amazing trips, I don’t even know where to start!
But I never really wrote about them.
Until TODAY!
Join me on a journey that will takes us across continents, to explore different cultures, delicious food, and take in breathtaking views!

Did You Know You Can ⛷️ Ski 🏂 on Cyprus?!
Cyprus is an island in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Because of its central location, it has a very rich history.
At some point in time, the island was inhabited by the Phoenicians, later by the Greeks, and it was part of the Roman empire. In the 12th Century, Cyprus was occupied by the crusaders, led by Richard the Lionheart. Remnants of all these different occupations can still be found on the island.
Nowadays, one Cyprus main attractions is its climate. It has one of the warmest climates and warmest winters in the Mediterranean part of the European Union. Even in winter, temperature averages around 63–64 °F / 7–18 °C. The island has a whopping 326 days of sun per year!
How is this for HOT and ☀️ SUNNY ☀️ ?
This would be the last place on earth you would think of when booking your ski trip, right?!
If you’re booking your ski trip, you’d be looking at a destination somewhere high up in the mountains and expect temperatures around 32°F / 0°C. And snow. Lots of snow!
But what if I told you that Cyprus actually has a ski slopes...
Yes, that’s right: you can go SKIING in Cyprus!
This is the end of one of the ski slopes on Mount Olympus:
This mountain is part of Troodos Mountains. Being 6,404 ft / 1,952 metres high, it is the highest point of Cyprus.
When you visit this area in the summer, when temperatures can exceed 100°F / 40°C, it is hard to imagine it is ever possible to ski or snowboard here!
But looks can be deceiving...
The ski season is short, usually from January - March. And with only four elevators and eight slopes, this may not be on the top of everyone’s ski destination list.
But think about it this way: where can you go skiing in the morning, and get a tan on the beach in the afternoon?
Plus: Cyprus has the coolest ski mascotte!

Is the snow in the winter time natural? If so, it's interesting how big a variation in temperature there is in a relatively small space!
I didn't know that Cyprus was a part of so many ancient civilizations! Thanks for sharing that info!

Yes, the snow in the winter time is natural, at least to my understanding. Because the slopes are pretty high up in the mountains. But it was very hard to imagine that it could ever snow here. I was there in August, which is the hottest month. Honestly, you don't want to visit Cyprus in August, it was crazy hot, all I wanted was be in the water!
