A fun day out in London doesn’t have to break the bank. A trip to the British capital may seem rather daunting, especially when travelling in a group, taking into consideration things like travel expenses, eating out and extortionate ticket prices for attractions. However there are also lots of fun and free things to do in this amazing city, and I would highly recommend you to try them out. After all, the best things in life are free :)
Sight Seeing
Make a checklist of all the sights and buildings that London is famous for and tick them off as you encounter each one. It will involve a good walk, a lot of fun and it won’t cost a penny. Don’t forget your camera so you can get some selfies and even great family photos alongside some of the world’s most famous landmarks including Buckingham palace, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the Shard, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, the Gherkin tower, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Parks & Gardens
Get some respite from the busy and bustling city streets in any of London’s Royal parks which are free to visit. A picnic in the park works out much cheaper than eating in restaurants and is a perfect, plus cost effective day out for the family. Some of the best parks include Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, Bushy Park near Hampton Court Palace, Richmond Park and St. James Park.

People from all over the world take a trip to Harrods in Knightsbridge when they visit London. It is an excitingly huge department store and just having a walk around its seven floors and browsing through the luxurious displays of lavish products is a day out in itself.

A highly recommended, tried and tested place to eat would be at Camden Market’s street food stalls, not only is there a variety of hot and fresh food to choose from, for a fiver you can fit as much as you want of any of the dishes available into a takeaway container and they throw in a free drink as well. It is not only an affordable option when eating out in Central London, it’s also really tasty and filling, with halal and vegetarian options available too.
