This is exactly the same perception in our society too, in fact, even if I say I earn xxx USD a month by writing content, then also they would count me as a jobless guy. And your marriage proposal will also be rejected citing joblessness. Even the girls treat u as a jobless guy.
That's sad. It's not quite that extreme in America but people still judge you differently if you're in a creative profession.
