The MOST challenging adventure I have ever been on! BUT the most rewarding!
Volcàn Maderas is pretty interesting... It is one of 4 cloud forests in the world. There are plants, and wildlife that live on it that don't exist anywhere else on the planet with it's very own ecosystem hovering over it.
This hike is no joke, even for the most physically fit! Every step is a slippery one!
BUT the breathtaking beauty + creatures along the way were incredible, and worth every minute!
5 hours to the lagoona crater at the top, and 5 hours back down to the base.
We travel with our online biz, so if that is something you do plan for a full day away.
We like to work hard a few days with a killer view, and then take a full day off.
I highly recommend doing this hike when visiting Ometepe Nicaragua.
