Reaching Home safe and Hassle free

in #travel4 years ago

Yesterday was a day full of anxiety, travelling in this covid times, what to expect was like a big mystery. Specially from Mumbai this was the first Oman Air flight happening so even the airline staff were not sure as to how things would be. But really, hats off to them, everything was arranged so well that it all went very easy, rather easier then the normal travel times.

We had reached early at the Airport to not take any chances, on reaching there was a long queue where a self declaration health form had to be submitted. The queue was so long that it looked like it would take minimum 2 hours to just get in, but then since my husband works for Oman Air, as a benefit they allowed us to get in directly crossing the line. So honestly that was a big relief, else that would have been little hectic. And once we were inside after that everything was just normal. Only difference was that the airport looked empty. The flight was full, this was the first flight from Mumbai to Muscat in the last 4 months, so there was rush, there were many residents stuck up waiting to get back home.

To top it up the duty free was also open so I did get to lay my hands on some last minute shopping. Once reaching the Muscat airport again we were thinking what it would be like, but by then we were already relaxed and as a general observation, I knew Muscat would be much relaxed. On arriving to Muscat, we were made to fill up again one self declaration form which just asked for our residence address and contact details, and after that was again all normal, the immigration and baggage collection and out. I was more surprised because at Muscat airport there was not even the temperature check done, so that looked little unusual to me.

But with God's grace everything went very smooth, it was really feeling like a blessing in such times to make such smooth travels. Also since last 2 days it has been raining very heavily in Mumbai, what luck our flight was yesterday, if it was today then reaching airport would have been very challenging since the city has been flooded and the roads are jammed with water clogging, so may be if today we would have not managed to get the flight. I always believe it's all in the divine timing.

Today has been a hectic day unpacking and cleaning up, since the home was locked up for almost 5 months. I had help so we could finish it up fast and now I sit and relax with my glass of wine and making this post.

You can see the whole airport is empty

Wow great to hear that you are back home. I understand how relaxing it would have been. How are things in Muscat? It is good to know that there is no quarantine as well. Stay safe. 🙂

It's the same almost, strict lockdowns, due to Eid holidays they had a very strict lockdown for 10 days but now easing out. Days have been busy with cleaning and set up again after almost 7 months

Yeah, I feel you. I once had to spend so many days to clean my room after being away for like 10 days. 7 months is a very long gap so it is understandable. Take care. 🙂

Good to hear that you made it home safely, and without too much hassle. :-)

Thank you very much @quotes-haven
