When our cruise ship stopped at Seychelles for a day, we met a local called Jimmy who demonstrated how to strip the outer shell of a coconut so that we could take only the inner nut home in our baggage!

I brought some coconuts home from the beach, I wanted to cut them open and plant orchids in them for a hanging basket, in my spare time, well they are still laying on the ground were I put them and one has sprouted up, I now have a 8 inch coconut tree growing. I have never seen a coconut opened like this, thank you for posting.
