5 Most Unique Beaches In The World

  1. The Hidden Beach

Unless you know it is there, you have to be high up to spot Playa da Amor on the Marieta Islands in Mexico. All good things have a history behind them. This beautiful beach front has a violent past. It was formed when the area was used by the Mexican Government for bomb testing. I’m not sure why the government chose this particular spot. Anyway, these tests led to a huge hole that was blasted into the sea cliff. Well, what was left of it was a truly stunning swimming spot.

  2. The Glowing Beach

The Maldivian gives this spectacular view to its visitors. It is certainly fit for fairytale royalty. It is an incredible sight that is attributed to phytoplankton which glows when disturbed. These phytoplanktons are quite abundant along the shores of the Maldives which makes the sight even more beautiful. That would probably explain why they are a favorite honeymoon destination.

  3. The Hot Water Beach

Imagine a hot bubbling bath provided by underground springs. You can sit there the whole day, though I would strongly advise against it. This is what visitors to the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand enjoy. Well, it takes a little bit of work to get that bath up and running. You don’t have to dig too far to create this ‘amazing’ geothermal spring water. It peaks at 147 degrees Fahrenheit. Nowhere on earth does anything come close to this.

  4. The Green Beach

At first glance, you may think this beach is covered in moss. Not at all. The bright green appearance of the Papakolea Beach in Hawaii derives its bright green appearance from the native sand that lines its shores. It is one of the only four green beaches in the world. No wonder it is a wonderful peculiar destination for any traveler.

  5. The Desert Beach

If you thought deserts are found only in arid areas, then you have certainly not met the beach at the Lencois Maranhenses National Park in Brazil. This beach is not by the seaside as you would anticipate. It is located far, far away from any water body. Every year, continuous rainfall floods the National Park. If you plan to visit the park, I would suggest May to September. You’ll have the time of your life. Fish can even be spotted in the water during these peak months.
