Enjoy the trip # 5 - The Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris.

It was built in honor of the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte and all the warriors and deaths of France in the wars of the First French Republic and the Napoleonic Wars (1789-1815).

The names of all the French wins and generals are written on the inner and outer walls of the arch, and underneath the vault lies the tomb of the unknown warrior of the First World War.

Under the archway of the Arc de Triomphe is the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior of the First World War. It was placed on the Day of Armistice in 1920, when the first eternal fire in Western and Eastern Europe was lit since the Vesta fire was extinguished in the 4th century.

The flame burns in memory of all the dead who have not been identified (currently burning for the dead and the 2 world wars)

The eternal flame was blown only once by a drunken Mexican football fan on the day France defeated Brazil in 1998.

The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in the form of a vault under which the parade of victory passes.

It is located in the center of Charles de Gaulle Square, at the western end of the famous Champs Elysees

The place where the Arc de Triomphe is built is called "Etoile" because of the many boulevards that start from here.

Inside the archway there is a small museum documenting its history.

The triumphal arch is 50 meters high and 45 meters wide. It is the second largest triumphal arch in the world after the Triumphal Arch in Pyongyang

From the roof has a beautiful panoramic view of Paris. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky to have a sunny weather and blue sky this day

The Arc de Triomphe is so colossal that Charles Godfroa flies with his Newport plane through the arch of the arch, the event being recorded on the film
