At The Summit of Mt. Yudalsan, Despair and Frustration

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

As passing through the middle of the mountain, there was a continuation of the rocks.
It was marvelous how such big rocks could stand along the line of the mountain ridge.
That scenery could be told as a creature of Nature. z
There were lots of marvelous rocks in a raw along the road to the summit.

People made a small road along with the rocks and piled the iron wire on the rocks to prevent accident.

It was not easy to walk along the rocks. I managed to get to the summit of Mt. Yudalsan.
It was only 228 m of the height. It looks not so high, but it starts from almost 0 m of height.
So it is comparatively interesting mountain to enjoy climbing. It was hard to climb properly.

While getting to the summit, I had looked at 2 things on the road. One is the carving on the rocks. It must’ve been carved a long ago. It’s style seemed little bit different from Buddhism.
There was no other explanation on that. In my guess, it seemed to be influenced from Taoism.

P1170265.JPG

It should’ve been a very difficult work. Near this sculpture, there was an anther carving which looked like a monument for an ancestors. It was hard to read, the letters were almost erased.

P1170261.JPG

I took a rest for a while looking at these carvings. I was curious what made them carve these sculptures.
As getting to the summit, I heard some kinds of sounds which could be heard in the construction work. It was a construction for the cable car.
City government was said to plan to install the cable car for tourism business.
I got angry to see that scene. Why people couldn’t let Nature alone.

P1170262.JPG

That construction scene made me frustrate of human beings.

As walking to the summit, I looked around the city and the sea. But due to the fine dust, scenery was not so beautiful. People said that the fine dust was coming from China.

P1170231.JPG

P1170178.JPG

I don’t think where this fine dust come from is important, the important thing is people think what the priority in our lives.

It was not convenient for me to breathing due to the fine dust.

If a cable car is installed in Mt. Yudalsan, I never get back to Mt. Yudalsanå
I was really sorry for Mt. Yudalsan.

It is not a good season to visit Korea in Winter and early spring due to the fine dust.

Amazing pictures!!!!

Thanks for sharing these incredible photos! It encourages me to travel more, although it can be tiring.

Quite an interesting place at Yudalsan area and those carvings are very ancient indeed.
It is nice that you had visited that place and experience the view although the fine dust is very troublesome to see @slowwalker
Thank you for your support. Take care.

Thank you for comment

How come korea is always so sad? :(

there is some nice art works, it doesn't have to be so sad.

Then why it make me soSaDe :(?

I really like your first part of photos, where are the rocks. Photos of city is just like normal big town, nothing special.

Awesome place!

Jagged rocks from millenia of being blasted by wind.

One day they will fall down.

Without dust, there is no construction.
Without construction, there is no civilization.
Without civilization, men are beasts.

It is against nature for us to go down like the beasts we evolved from. Fine dust, for a while at least, is the price of progress.

Also: disabled tourists should have a chance to see the summit, no? With this cable car they can ;)

umm

do you have an alternative theory?

honestly though. a cable car will permit the elderly and very young to reach the summit. what right do we have, to insist that the elderly and the very young should not have access to the same nature?

Hello. Interesting question. With the cable car installed, would the surrounding area still be part of nature? Would it still be the natural world, unstructured by humans?
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/nature

Sometimes I think the presence of a human mind changes nature into something else that is not necessarily natural.

Yes, sometimes we change it beyond recognition into the unnatural.

But remember that humans evolved within nature, and are part of nature.
The human mind is after all, a natural organ! I believe that it's human nature to facilitate access to these beautiful places, and so long as it's not destroyed, then allowing more people to see this beautiful sight only enhances it's natural beauty by allowing others to experience it!

It makes me wonder if the fields and forests are still natural with houses in them? And I think yes! Because human structures are like those created by ants, we just are better at shaping our world than the ants :)

I really like the rock formations. The view from the top must be exhilerating!

Beautiful nature, it's looks awesome
Great travel, I like your post
Thanks for sharing

Wow

These are really beautiful Sir.

Nature's creatures are simply amazing.

Seeing your pictures turns ON the wanderlust within me. I'll someday travel like you do @slowwalker, and capture every moment of it! Nature is really giving us its beauty which are very precious. Despite the proliferation of technology, we are still lucky that we are able to see the beauty of nature, who knows our future generations might won't see its beauty anymore. That's one of the reason why I want to travel, to see the nature's beauty while its still there! Also photographs like you've captured are treasures to be kept! Thank you for inspiring us to love nature more @slowwalker! Keep traveling @slowwalker and make some good memories wherever you may go and always keep safe!

Wow, very beautiful images and so sorry to hear about all the dust in the air! I could see how that would be very frustrating when the scenery and natural beauty was more difficult to enjoy with the air quality being so poor.

Yes, it was really sorry

it is very beautiful they are some special sculptures that is an art that you have to know how to love and feel since you are in the environment and near a city I would like to visit sometime

Really Amazing. .. wow....

Very nice post, thanks for sharing, my first resteem😊

The quality of air is less important than the desire to become and look developed to others, developed countries have already lead us to the worst due to their irresponsible behaviour and now developing countries are in the race to let environment even worst situation.
I totally can feel how you would have felt the time guy saw the construction, a big mobile tower just behind my house has stolen my morning and evening view from me. Why are we so irresponsible?

That is what I want to say

A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing these amazing photographs! It urges me to travel more, in spite of the fact that it can be tiring. thanks alot.

Thank you for sharing those amazing picture! Nature is so incredible, it's crazy thinking about the existence of some elements of the nature that the human being have nothing to do with!
