Khun Yuam, a nice and peaceful district in Mae Hong Son province, in the North of Thailand

Further to my previous post, apart from the Thai-Japan Friendship Memorial Hall, people’s daily life at Khun Yuam district is also interesting.

Khun Yuam is a nice and peaceful district. Local people have simple ways of living close to nature; i.e. a beautiful river, named Yuam River, wonderful mountains, gorgeous flowers, etc.

Starting from the early morning, they can wake up with happiness seeing the magnificent sunrise among nice nature.

Then they offer food to the monks who walk along the small roads passing to their house.

Their old wooden houses are fascinating in Tai Yai's style.

The street art is awesome with the giant Naga and the word "Khun Yuam" in the Thai language.

In the below picture, you will see the traditional barn which is interesting. It’s well preserved and valuable for history study.

In the morning market, there are many fresh and local products. Some of them look strange to me and they are awesome.

Last but not least, the following long cement bridge with the impressive scenery of the mountains. It’s a new viewpoint of Mae Hong Son province which is not far away from Khun Yuam.

It’s really good to have a slow and happy life in this nice and peaceful district, Khun Yuam….
