Wat Nantaram, an impressive temple with Shan style, in Phayao province, in the North of Thailand

Wat Nantaram is an impressive temple.

The temple was built by combining many types of architecture together perfectly; i.e. Myanmar, China, India, Lanna, etc.

It is peaceful with an atmosphere that is similar to a temple in Myanmar.

The main building is distinctive with Shan art and architecture style.

It is entirely made of teak wood and decorated with stunning wood carvings.

Other buildings, chedis and sculptures were created in gorgeous designs.

Inside the temple, there is a museum of antiques such as old banknotes, ancient daily used elements, paintings about Mahachat sermons, etc.

In addition, there are many Buddha statues that are magnificent.....

The highlight is the golden Buddha statue in the posture of Maravichai. There are many believers continually coming to pay homage.

If you can notice, there is also golden teak wood carved on the back of the Buddha statue with the sculpture of the little Cupid God which is influenced by British art.

It’s because of the Cupid God which is the God of Love, Wat Nantaram is also popular for young lovers who often visit the temple to pay homage to the Cupid God and ask for blessings. They believe that they will be happy in love after that…

P.s. I used to present Wat Nantaram in my old post. These are new sets of photos from my sister's recent trip.
