Wat Sothonwararam Woravihan, a famous old temple in Chachoengsao province, Thailand - Part I

in #travel25 days ago

Wat Sothonwararam Woravihan is well-known among local Thai people as Wat Luang Por Sothon. It is a famous temple located along the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao province which is not far from Bangkok.

Wat Luang Por Sothon is an old temple that was built in the late Ayutthaya period.

Ubosot of Wat Luang Por Sothon is very huge. It has magnificent architecture and exquisite decoration. It surely can impress you from a far distance.

Ubosot looks outstanding and wonderful; no matter where you stand in the temple, Ubosot looks picturesque at every corner.

Inside the Ubosot is enshrined Luang Por Sothon, a Buddha statue in a meditation posture, which is beautiful and sacred. (the word “Sothon” in the Thai language means pure or sacred.)

There are many people visiting Wat Luang Por Sothon to pay their respects to Luang Por Sothon and ask for blessings from Luang Phor Sothon to protect them from any harm.

P.s. more photos in my next post.
