Kelowna & Vancouver Roadtrip BLOG

Every year we try to take a road trip to the explore the Beautiful British Columbia! We ended up stopping in Kelowna on the way to Vancouver. The city of Kelowna is known for being "Canada's Wine Country" therefore, the wine estate experience was a MUST!

It was our first time at Quail's Gate, Okanagan Valley and certainly won't be the last. We first explored the shop which contained all the wine bottles available for purchase. At the back of the shop, they offer a complimentary wine tasting for both white and red wine. Not satisfied? Not to worry, they have a whole menu to choose from. We did the 3 tastings for $5, the staff was nice enough to count one tasting for two separate wines. At the end, if you decide to purchase a wine bottle, the $5 will be waived.

We then sat down for one of their offered tastings: The Scenic Seated Tasting. If you're wanting to feel a little extra & classy, this is a must! They seat you on their balcony overlooking the amazing vineyard with the view of the lake & the mountains in the background. Unfortunately, our timing was off cause the air was smokey due to the BC forest fires, but nevertheless it was still breathtaking and we will definitely be back when the air is clear. They give you a menu that contains either a set food and wine pairing or if you're feeling creative, you can pick and choose to your liking. We picked a set wine and cheese board... it was delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it...

The wine estate experience does not end there! Quail's Gate has a liquor license that is valid throughout their whole property! Imagine running through the vineyard [okay maybe not running, jogging? You get the point] with a glass of wine in your hand, taking all these social media worthy photos. And if you can't imagine, have no fear for we can make it clear...

Next stop, Vancouver! I'll be honest, it was rainy and fairly cold when we got there. We stayed at an airbnb, experienced some nightlife on Granville Street, where you will find the hottest clubs/bars/pubs... pretty much whatever you are into. Although, the food is what got me excited. It was our first time at the Richmond night market! Shopping, food, games, social media worthy backgrounds, live music, etc. We went a few hours before closing, which meant everything was on sale! Foodie heaven on earth. You'll see a lot of people walking out of the market with bags of to go containers. I'll admit, we were one of them...

For a better vision of how this trip went, we made a vlog on dtube for you guys! We hope you enjoy watching it, we had fun making it! Much love, Joe & Mary.
