Amazing Chemal

In Western Siberia is a wonderful village Chemal. Many tourists who have visited Mountain Altai do not pass this wonderful village. There are many tourist bases and campsites with different degrees of comfort, and the locals kindly offer their services and excursions. For example, you can go with professional instructors to an extreme rafting, down the stream of the Chemal River, or go to conquer the mountain peaks in a hike to the Karakol lakes.

In the south of the village is the famous Chemal GES, near which a large number of travelers regularly gather. Near the hydroelectric power station there is a market with souvenirs and natural products of local production. Near the stalls a stage with a powerful acoustic system is installed, where interesting events, competitions and discos are held. On the opposite side of the dam there is a small pond. Those who want to swim on the catamarans can rent them and enjoy stunning views of the surroundings right from the center of the reservoir.

Not far from the hydroelectric power station there is a picturesque rock-island of Patmos, right in the middle of the Katun River, on which is located the female skete of John the Theologian of the Barnaul Znamensky Monastery. The island connects with the river bank with a suspension bridge. Incredible landscapes open here, and peace and quiet reign. Time here seems to stop.

In the center of the village you can climb the mountain, along the built steps and estimate Chemal from a bird's eye view. Lifting is not easy, but it is definitely worth every effort. Rising to the very top of the observation deck, an incredible, fantastic view of the terrain opens before you, breath stops. At the top is the "Golden Section" pyramid, you can even go inside and rest on your benches.

You can spend your time in an excursion to the Trout lake. Upon arrival, you will see three wonderful ponds with trout of different sizes. Visitors are invited to feed fish, even fishing for a fee is possible. On the banks of the ponds are figures carved from a tree by a local craftsman. The territory of the lakes is clean, pleasant to the eyes. Nature here will not leave indifferent both adults and children.

A huge choice of pastime, kind warm atmosphere and the unity of man with nature - all this can be found in the village of Chemal. If you have never been here before, I strongly recommend visiting Chemalsky district. I guarantee you will be satisfied!
