Article: Mission Iceland

in #travelfeed5 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemians!

You have not heard about me for a long time! Sorry, I´ve been quite busy the last few months and haven´t been able to give much time to tell you about my Mission Iceland. I get back to it and I want to give you an update about how it´s going.

As somebody knows I lived and worked in green New Zealand last year but I choose a different style and moved to cold and freezing Iceland. I can better feel and understand why ICE-land is often called the Land of Ice and Fire (and incest btw. :D)
I found a flat and a new job in Reykjavik (it wasn´t easy as I expected) so now I´m "an Icelander" for little while.
Taste this is(ce)land through several photos below :)

Iceland is a country of extreme geological contrasts. It´s winter time here so It´s always dark and we can enjoy daylight only few hours. But when the sun turns on for a moment you can feel the energy. Only few hours per day can see the view like that becouse of winter dark period here.

I have visited many places. After a trip to Geysir and Gullfoss, around 100km from Reykjavik, I saw a real icelandic sunset. The sun exactly between the cloud and clean sky part offers a great spectacle. Cold weather but heats the heart :)

Another shot of sunrise. This one was taken along the road north of Reykjavik around 9 am. We make a trip straight to the Olafsvík. Enjoy the heavenly fire colors of Iceland. Ice-land but hot sky :)

Pure ice... when I came to Iceland I didn't expect that I find ice beach called Diamond beach with a black volcanic sand where icebergs from the glacier lagoon drift ashore.

Public toilets is so expensive, but if you wait and sleep in the car near this toilets it is possible to jump over the tourniquet and feel free of view and the other things what we usually do in WC :D Yeees that was double amazing!

And what is also interesting? I´m giving joy and laughter also here in Iceland!

Thanks for your attention!

Your Matty :*
