This Christmas I had traveled to my parents house. Normally there should be snow, but not this year, on the contrary, it was 10 degrees which is out of the ordinary. I like white rather than warm Christmas.

dieses Weihnachten war ich bei meinen Eltern gereist. Normalerweise sollte es Schnee geben, aber dieses Jahr nicht, im Gegenteil, es waren 10 Grad was außergewöhnlich ist. Ich mag eher weiße als warme Weihnachten.

As always when I'm there I have to do a lot of paperwork and visit different authorities. Again, there was no exception. I had to drive to Timișoara, tp the local tax office to clarify a few things.
If I'm anywhere, try to take some time to see the city, whether it's a new city to explore it or, as in this case, to see the changes. The old town has changed positively and the periphery has deteriorated from the last time I was there.

Wie immer wenn ich dort bin muss ich sehr viel Papierkram machen und verschiedene Behörden besichtigen. Auch dieses mal gab es keine Ausnahme. Musste nach Temeschburg fahren bei dem dortigen Finanzamt um ein paar Sachen klären.

There were many events in the old town. One of them was this forest of Christmas trees made from recycled materials. I was surprised because the whole action suited the weather because this warm winter is the result of environmental pollution. In Europe we have 10 degrees where the same geographic latitude in North America (Ottawa) everything is under snow at very low temperatures.
In der Altstadt gab es sehr viele Veranstaltungen. Eine davon war dieses Wald von Weihnachtsbäume aus wiederverwendeten Materialen. War überrascht weil die ganze Aktion passte zum Wetter weil dieses warme Winter ist folge der Umweltverschmutzung. In Europa haben wir 10 Grad wo bei den selber Geographische Breite in Nord Amerika (Ottawa) alles unter Schnee liegt bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen.
All the materials were donated and the setup was done by 160 volunteers who put more than 2060 hours into the project.
Die ganzen Materialien wurden gespendet und der Aufbau wurde von 160 Freiwilligen geleistet die mehr als 2060 Stunden in das Projekt gesteckt haben.
The materials used include about: 9000 plastic bags, 4500 CDs, 3000 plastic cups, 62 wheels, 20000 bottle caps and 25000 aluminium cans. After the project is over all materials will be recycled.
Die verwendeten Materialien umfassen etwa 9000 Plastiktüten, 4500 CDs, 3000 Plastikbecher, 62 Reifen, 20000 Flaschendeckel und 25000 Aluminiumdosen. Nach Beendigung des Projekts werden alle Materialen wiederverwendet.
It is interesting that the large corporations donated and have bought the trees with the donation. Continental bought the trees made of tires, which is ironic, because the tire factory being one of the region's biggest polluters.
Interessant ist das die Großkonzerne gespendet und die Bäume somit gekauft haben. Continental hat die Reifen Bäume gekauft, was für eine Ironie, weil die Reifenfabrik einer der größten Umweltverschmutzer in der Region ist .
Hopefully next year we will have a normal Christmas with a lot of snow. For that to happen we are responsible to change something.
Hoffentlich nächstes Jahr haben wir wieder normale Weihnachten mit viel Schnee. Damit das geschieht sind wir verantwortlich etwas zu ändern.

Awesome initiative in Timisoara, I had no idea they did this creative project to raise attention on the need for recycling. I agree we have to do something as temperatures are waaaay to warm for this time of the year in Europe, Bucharest included. Thank you for sharing & Happy New Year!
Yes, I think the young spirit of the country is moving in the right direction. Sadly the country is not run by this folks :(
