Tree Tuesday - The Musa Thousand Fingers Banana Tree !!

in #treetuesday6 years ago (edited)

Last weekend i was walking around the Temple grounds down by the river of Bangkok on this praticular site there are four beautiful temple buildings and one more under construction and with most temple grounds the monks have there own lush gardens and fruit trees.

It was in these temple grounds that i came across this Banana tree call the Musa Thousand Fingers Banana Tree now i have seen many varieties of banana trees with different types of bananas growing of them but this one never , didn't even know it existed i was so amazed i couldn't believe my eyes were seeing such a amazing bunch of bananas on one branch.

I actually came home that afternoon and had to google this banana tree to convince myself that it was real what i was seeing and be damn it is a true existing banana tree that grows only in the Asian countries and is a rare banana tree that grows up to a thousand small sweet finger bananas it would be very interesting to watch it grow and bare it's bananas it's like looking at a long Elephant trunk extending out.

Although it is a pretty sturdy tree in normal conditions this banana tree is given support by placing a timber frame around it so it doesn't topple over with all it's extra weight of bananas and in the case of strong monsoon winds and rain. The bananas themselves grow to about a inch and a half long and are one of the most sweetest bananas you will ever eat and the banana bunch can grow up to 3 meters long. Well who ever thought that a banana tree could grow up to a thousand bananas we see and learn something everyday of our lives well i certainly did today it was truly mind blowing to have seen this amazing banana tree in front of me with my two own eyes otherwise i would not have believed if someone had told me about this particular banana tree.

Hi @hangin, that's an incredible banana bunch, in 20 years in Thailand I never have seen one that long. Nice catch.

Same here i have been coming to Thailand for the past 20 years or so and now been living here for some time and it's the first time i have come across one of these banana trees ....truly amazing to see it just blew me out to see so many bananas on one branch :)

Hey! I live in Bangkok too! Would you mind which temple is this exactly...? or did I miss it somewhere in the post?? Hahhaa Thanks in advance! :)

Hi @waybeyondpadthai now that is a user name as long as a Thai name ....lol...but i love it :)

You know i was on my way back from Chinatown and i still had a couple of hours of sunlight so when i got of at the Saphan Taksin pier i walked towards the BTS and turn right on that big main road and it's about 200 meters up on the right hand side the Chao Phraya river side of the road it's actually almost opposite that tall haunted building that never got finished that looks like the State Tower in Sathorn. Here is a couple pictures it might help you pin point the area. Actually i am going back their tomorrow i want to do some more photography around the river and check out that banana tree again. I will meet you there for a ice tea if you like...haha :)

I couldn't even dream something this amazing! I have never seen anything like this in my life nor even heard about it. You can bet that I'll be getting Google out after this. Not that I don't believe you, but how can something this extraordinary exist and me not ever heard of it? It is, hands down the most amazing tree Tuesday this week. It is unbelievable to me how you can keep on coming up with Oddities in nature every single week. The only thing I can conclude is that Thailand is much more amazing and then I gave you credit for.

I envy you in so many ways. I am sure that it is an amazing sight in person and I could not imagine, across this and seeing it with my own two eyes.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us and you know I am taking this one home with me to share.Have an awesome day!

Upped and Steemed

It was truly amazing to see it with my own two eyes if i had seen it like in photo i would find it hard to believe myself because neither have i even seen a banana tree like this and in the 20 years of coming to Thailand and now living here it's the first one i have ever seen i am going back their tomorrow to take a video of this banana tree and sell it to Google and maybe eat a couple of the bananas they could be ripe enough now...hehe :)

Seriously! I hope you do. This was awesome and I want to share it more! Did you put it through the post promotion?

I certainly will go back i want to see its progress.

You mean post promotion in Discord no but i will do that now. Thanks for remaining me sometimes i forget to do so.

Have a great day my friend :)

I am surprised to see it. Really amazing !! I saw it at first.Nice sharing .

You are welcome happy you liked it :)

OMG this is soooooooooo incredible thank you so much for sharing. Apart from anything else it is a wonderful idea to have such small sized but super sweet bananas , perfect snack size like little candy bars but way better! I would love one of these in my garden. I wonder if I could get a sucker sent to Costa Rica from Bangkok! Can I ask what you mean by sell a video of it to Google? How do you sell videos to Google?
RESTEEMED

Thank you and your right they do make a nice little sweet snack for of protein.

You should check it out on Google see if you can import it from some other neighboring country google was telling me they exist in other countries closer to you i do think i saw it some where when i was reading about it.

What i was saying about selling it to google was just a joke i was having with another Steemit friend but putting a video up on D Tube would pay you some money by people voting on it.
