The Old Dog Contributes: Tree Tuesday And The Scars And Lines of Age!

in #treetuesday6 years ago

Some say that the wrinkles and scars on a man's face give him character. Is that just a nice way of saying that the man has grown old? Perhaps!

In the case of trees, though, the signs of their age certainly do add interest and beauty.

The example that I'm showing here features the healed wound of a branch that has been lopped off as well as the remnants of the sappy tears that once ran down from the wound.

Extending up from the wound is another curvy vertical scar that has healed as a testament to the power and resilience of this moss covered tree!

Here is My Submission For This Week's Tree Tuesday!

I found so much to look at on the trunk of this tree!

Why Don't You Get Involved In Tree Tuesday!

If you'd like to have some fun and enter   #treetuesday which was initiated by @old-guy-photos, it's easy to do. Just share one of your tree photos in a post and include the hashtag #treetuesday! Why not get invloved and enter either this Tuesday or any Tuesday to come!

@kus-knee (The Old Dog)

Let's Succeed Together!

Sort:

Except for the moss that tree looks a lot like me!

You’re too funny Rich!

That's what I look like when I squeeze my belly together!

Always great to see the Old Dog in the tag! That is a great old tree with a lot going on in the pic. I really like seeing the moss/lichen on the trees. I heard it say that is an indication of good air quality!

Thanks for the idea and for promoting and curating it so well! It's a great challenge for everyone to get involved in.

@kus-knee,
Time cure everything! Look at what you shared, it's a best example for that! I might try to find a tree which cured by time! Hope it will work! Nice contest!

Cheers~

Thanks. Tree Tuesday is every week.

@ kus-knee life passes and leaves nicks and grooves in us.

Of course, trees, like humans, are getting old. Old age is often not only wisdom but also beauty. If it have prestige! The trees have. That's what I get from your picture. About your invitation ... I like to post to @old-guy-photos's challenge. Now I'm a little late, but I will succeed.

Your right! I look forward to your entry!

Thank you! Just now I managed to post.

Dear friend, the word of God says: everything that breathes praises Jehovah, and I am sure that this tree as a living being, I weep the cut of its branch, and for the sample it is there with that wounded gra and a big hole in it. his heart, but still, his moss does not leave him, I know that he will not heal, nor will he ever do the same as before, but the best thing of all is that he still, wounded, continues to breathe. Beautiful photo.

Yes you are right it does say that! Animate and inanimate things praise!

Nature is expert in making these type of beautiful arts.

Yes, all the credit goes to the creator!

To think some of these trees are thousands of years old is just spectacular. That particular one looks more than 1000 years old (am no expert)

I don't know the age either!
