Blemishing Mountains ,Rampant rivers , Gigantic waterfalls , Cold breezes and Darkest deserts, Himalyas have it all.
My journey to hidden places of himalyas started from the Outskirts of Shivalik range of himalyas , As the journey progressed we discovered astonishing Ancient pass Called Rohtang Pass where pastures from lahaul district used to connect with the world using oldest trade route “The Silk Route”.

As for us the destination we first thought to be Chandartaal Lake sitting as high as 12000 ft.

The weather conditions soured up and we had to cancel it as we didn’t had the equipment to fulfill the requirements of being cut off from the world for several days as this lake and the route to it gets covered in snow .
We changed the course and set off from rohtang pass to inner places of lahaul . After hours of rattling around to find the best place to explore we came to the decision to visit the ancient Buddhist and Hindu monastery of “Trilokinath”(Meaning Lord of all three worlds Heaven, Earth, Hell).

Travelling as far as 500 miles from where we started the journey became an obsession as after every mile the scenery changed drastically. That’s the beauty of himalyas “ You never know what’s gonna come next. Sometimes nature threw showers of rain and other times it was cold breezes that flew across several small glaciers on every hill top. Smoking the purest hash(resin of weed) in the world is the feeling no peaceseeker can resist to. After travelling for 500 miles we finally reached the sacred temple at 6.30 evening .

The temple is not that big but the stories that came with it were worth it . Inside the temple there are two very narrow pillars in front of the statue of “Trilokinath” .The high Priest told us to enter the temple from left one then take blessing from the lord and then exit from right one . The priest told us that the left pillar is for virtues that you have done in Your life and lord will grant u access to his door , The right one is for Your sins that you have done in this world . Those will be left behind and you walks into the world as a changed man . That was promising as it was really hard to exit from the right one inspite both the pillars had same area and space . It was an experience which I will embrace for the rest of my life.TrilokinathTemple-Mandi-777x437.jpg
