A pertinent subject of concern @steemminna is committed to ensuring is equity and fairness in the protection of Children’s right. Aside offering humanitarian assistant and aid to alleviate the sufferings of younger generation who have been deprived or partly offered food, clothing and basic social welfare, we believe in the protection and preservation of Children’s fundamental human rights.

These rights includes but not limited to the following;
- Right to Learning (Education)
- Right of Access to Effective health care
- Freedom of speech
- Freedom from the discrimination of Children on basis of race, gender, nationality, disability and religion etc
- Right to freedom from torture
- Right to security of lives
- Right to qualitative life
And lots more….
Children just like Adults, need a protection and of course respect accorded to their rights. Unfortunately, these rights given to Children under 18 seem to be ignored and shattered. This is particularly noticeably in cases of extreme poverty in forms such as; denial of right to basic education, poor housing facilities, inadequate provision of food, absence of conducive play ground.
Right to Learning (Education): A popular biblical and moral adage goes forth: Train up a Child in the way he should grow….When he is old, he will never depart from it. Apparently, denial of right to Children from acquiring qualitative Education, takes a toll on the society in quite a number of ways. Children if left unattended to or denied Education could become hopeless in a later stage of their lives and might become thugs and Social miscreants afterwards which obviously are both endangering to lives and properties.
Right of Access to Effective health care: Health is wealth and is even more wealthier when offered to Children. Steem Minna is committed to offering qualitative health care amongst it many objectives of alleviating poverty.
Freedom of Speech: Freedom to air views and opinions shouldn’t be attributed to Adults only. Children also have a pertinent role particularly when their voices are respected. In today’s generation of Children, innovative ideas are borne out from Children irrespective of their ages. Imagine seeing a Child of 13 years creating amazing stuffs that could be very beneficial to a wider audience.
Freedom the discrimination of Children: Hopefully, Steem Minna could get a Lawyer in the nearest possible future to fortify this. Freedom from discrimination of Children on the basis of race, ethnicity, disability and nationality should be checked.
Right to freedom from torture: Unimaginable stories from Child torture are already making waves. Particularly as regards some Children who are maltreated by caregivers who aren’t there parents but living together.
Right to security of lives: Security of lives is an issue of concern in developing countries like Nigeria. Reported stories of infanticide and filicide which are both appalling and uncalled for have happened and still happening
Right to a qualitative life: Living a comfortable life isn’t too much to ask for from the less fortunate Children. We all can collectively, make life wholesome and better for someone out there.
No Child is useless or worthless, nobody knows tomorrow. Perhaps, some less privileged children if catered for could bring forth innovative and problem solving decisions and mechanics that could help our society.
