Today is the Birthday of Baba Harbhajan Singh. The Saint turns 78 today
Baba Harbhajan Singh has been on duty both before and after death in Nathula border. Baba Harbhajan Singh who died in 1968 on duty in Sikkim still does his duty on Nathula Border between India and China in East Sikkim. Both Indian and Chinese Army worship him. During the flag meetings between the two nations at Nathula, the Chinese set a chair aside for the saint.
Captain Baba Harbhajan Singh was born today in the year 1941 in Panjab. He died at the age of 27 at Nathula in Eastern Sikkim. But as per legends, he still does his duty in Nathula Border.
Some striking facts about Saint Captain as told by the Army officials I met at Nathu-La and Baba Mandir :
- Baba warns the soldiers of any impending attacks atleast 3 days in advance. He is still guarding the international boundaries of the two countries.
- During the customary flag meetings between the India and China, the Chinese army still sets a chair aside for Baba.
- Baba Mandir today has three rooms, Baba’s office, store room and living room. In the living room every item of his need has been neatly kept. His bed, shoes, slippers, water bottle, ironed uniform, an umbrella - everything.
- His room is cleaned every morning.
- On some mornings, soldiers have found crumpled bedsheet and his muddy shoes in the room.
- On a lot of occasions, soldiers have discovered that Baba still visits the camps and his post.
- He still draws a Major’s salary every month.
- He still gets 2 months of leave every year.
- Every year on 11 September, his belongings are sent to his hometown. The train departs from New Jalpaiguri station, Siliguri, West Bengal.
- A berth is reserved in his name and is left empty for the entire journey.
- A team of soldiers accompanies him till his hometown.
- The Army is on high alert when Baba is on leave.

आज बाबा हरभजन सिंह का जन्मदिन है। संत आज 78 हो जाता है
नाथुला सीमा में पहले और बाद में बाबा हरभजन सिंह कर्तव्य पर थे। 1 9 68 में सिक्किम में कर्तव्य पर बाबा हरभजन सिंह की मृत्यु पूर्व सिक्किम में भारत और चीन के बीच नाथुला सीमा पर अपना कर्तव्य है। भारतीय और चीनी दोनों सेना उसकी पूजा करते हैं। नाथुला में दोनों देशों के बीच ध्वज की बैठकों के दौरान, चीनी ने संत के लिए एक कुर्सी अलग कर दी।
कप्तान बाबा हरभजन सिंह का जन्म आज 1 9 41 में पंजाब में हुआ था। पूर्वी सिक्किम में नाथुला में 27 वर्ष की आयु में उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। लेकिन किंवदंतियों के अनुसार, वह अभी भी नाथुला सीमा में अपना कर्तव्य करता है।
सेना के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि सेंट कैप्टन के बारे में कुछ हड़ताली तथ्य मैं नाथू-ला और बाबा मंदिर में मिले थे:
- बाबा कम से कम 3 दिन पहले किसी भी आने वाले हमले के सैनिकों को चेतावनी देते हैं। वह अभी भी दोनों देशों की अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं की रक्षा कर रहा है।
- भारत और चीन के बीच पारंपरिक ध्वज बैठकों के दौरान, चीनी सेना अभी भी बाबा के लिए एक कुर्सी सेट करती है।
- बाबा मंदिर में आज तीन कमरे हैं, बाबा का कार्यालय, स्टोर रूम और लिविंग रूम। लिविंग रूम में उसकी जरूरत के हर सामान को अच्छी तरह से रखा गया है। उसका बिस्तर, जूते, चप्पल, पानी की बोतल, लोहे की वर्दी, एक छाता - सबकुछ।
- उसका कमरा हर सुबह साफ किया जाता है।
- कुछ सुबह में, सैनिकों को कमरे में कुचल बिस्तर और उसके गंदे जूते मिल गए हैं।
- कई अवसरों पर, सैनिकों ने पाया है कि बाबा अभी भी शिविर और उनकी पोस्ट पर जाते हैं।
- वह अभी भी हर महीने एक मेजर वेतन खींचता है।
- वह अभी भी हर साल 2 महीने की छुट्टी पाता है।
- हर साल 11 सितंबर को, उनके सामान उनके गृह नगर में भेजे जाते हैं। ट्रेन नई जलपाईगुड़ी स्टेशन, सिलीगुड़ी, पश्चिम बंगाल से निकलती है।
- एक बर्थ उसके नाम पर आरक्षित है और पूरी यात्रा के लिए खाली छोड़ दिया गया है।
- सैनिकों की एक टीम उनके साथ अपने गृह नगर तक जाती है।
- जब बाबा छुट्टी पर हैं तो सेना उच्च अलर्ट पर है।
कुछ सैनिक कभी मर नहीं जाते हैं।
