It's been a bad season for flu.
Or, maybe more accurately, good for the flu, bad for you.
Many I know have been calling in sick to work. Church pews have been sparsely populated. Two out of six of the members of our weekly church fellowship group were absent last night, and three of the four present had recently recovered from the flu.
Just this morning I was reading an article by Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby in which he cautions readers to resist pharmaceutical proponents' propaganda, pushing palliative pills and promulgating pretentious preventive vaccines for your flu-ey ills. Whew! That was a mouthful! ;)

Only ten percent effective? Say what?
Dr. Scott-Mumby ridicules, I think justifiably so, media pressure to take a flu shot that is admittedly only 10% effective. You can read his article here:
He goes on to point out that, even in a good year, flu shots are only 40 to 60 percent effective, and those statistics are questionable. He also warns against the use of Tamiflu, a highly promoted drug that may reduce flu symptoms in some users, but by only less than a day. And at what cost? The possibility of severe side effects.
Many, including myself, are wary of vaccines.

Many times people underestimate the flu, we do not give it the true importance it requires.
In my country we are in summer, in these times we are plagued by other diseases, now the neighboring countries like Brazil and Paraguay are having yellow fever epidemic, this worries us a lot to the Argentines because of the proximity, the worst thing is that here the vaccines to avoid contagion.

Those diseases you mention, such as yellow fever, are caused by virus pathogens and spread by mosquitoes. The colloidal silver is an effective weapon against the viruses.

Thanks for the info! My mom is a retired nurse and a real 'pill pusher'. She's always asking me if I got a flu shot because she's afraid I'm going to get sick and pass it on to Brian. I try to tell her I'd rather stick with my Vitamin C and other natural supplements instead of injecting poison into my veins :) She of course can never understand me when I speak of hypercritical Big Pharma...I remember her always bringing home "these great samples" of different pills from the Dr's office she worked at; she was always so pleased at the "free stuff" !! ...like leading sheep to a cliff!

I find it distressing that so many people have what amounts to blind faith in doctors, drug companies, and the government. This is VERY worthwhile post my friend. I wish I could keep it someway for when I need it. I stopped taking the flu shot 15 years ago and have been better because of not taking it. This year praise God I have not gotten sick at all. I know silver is good. The olive extract is new to me as it the flu remedy. Again a VERY phenomenal post @creatr. I have amazed myself this year. I always get sick in the winter but since I changed my diet, I get no mucus and haven't been sick in a good while now. I think that is so key to prevent common sickness.

I will never get a flu shot. I really don't trust the medical world for vaccines which is controlled by corporations and the government. I met someone recently who had MRSA and said colloidal silver cured her. My daughter got a non-dangerous form of staff infection and this lady kept saying I need to try colloidal silver but I wouldn't try it on a 1 year old. It sounds interesting though. When I have the flu or serious sicknesses alka-seltzer plus is my miracle cure...usually clears me up in a few days.
It should be a big clue that the government has managed to pass laws exempting pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits based on vaccination. You'd think that would tell people something...

Never heard of Flu-Ban, but I'm certainly going searching for it now. My wife and I argue about getting flu shots for the ids every year (me against, her for) and if Flu-Ban works as you say it will put an end to that yearly battle. Flu is so bad disease..
So flu is caused by a virus, antibiotics cannot help, unless the flu has led to another illness caused by bacteria. Antivirals, such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza), may be prescribed in some circumstances.
So beware or this disease..

So beware of those drugs..
They are worse than the flu.

Ugh. Can't even begin to say how this season is keeping me in bed with more body pains than usual. People tend to self-medicate and when they don't, they jump to the big stuff immediately. Virus are self-limiting. They have a definite timeline and the only thing one can do is to lighten the symptoms which downright sucks. I'm not sure if the Tamiflu is available in my country as I don't really have that as my go to nor do I plan it to be. But all we can do I suppose is to keep our immune system in shape and have preventive measures in place. I'm on the border when it comes to vaccines as I can't have all anyway seeing as I have an autoimmune disorder. Flu vaccines change yearly as the strains also change per season. Bad stuff about viruses is they evolve fast -.- which brings us back to "Good for the flu, bad for you." Ugh. Sucks sucks sucks.
