This is my response to some moron on Twitter that thinks Israel is in the same situation as Ukraine.
I prefer my creative content to be on Hive but sometimes stupidity has to be pointed out on Twitter.
1. Casualty Ratios
Big Difference 1: Israel is winning with very light casualties and an extraordinary 60+:1 kill rate against Hamas and 30+:1 kill rate against Hizbollah. Ukraine is losing with an appalling 1:10 kill rate against Russia.
2. Demographics
Big Difference 2: Israel is a young society with the highest fertility (TFR 2.9) of any civilised country. Ukraine is an old society with one of the lowest fertilities (TFR 1.0). Israel doesn't need to draft old people, but plenty volunteer.
3. Immigration / Emmigration
Big difference 3: Huge numbers of fighting age Israelis returned to Israel after Oct 7 while huge numbers of fighting age Ukrainians left when Russia invaded.
4. Motivation
Big difference 4: Israeli mobilisation was 120% over subscribed while Ukraine has to press-gang.
5. Civilisational Experience
Big difference 5: Israel is a 3500 year old civilisation that won back its historic homeland by defeating, in multiple wars, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq & Lebanon backed by the USSR. Israel had no US support until 1973. Ukraine gained independence by the stroke of a pen.
6. Military Equipment Production
Big difference 6: Israel is a huge arms producer and exporter making most of its own weapons and the best hi-tech military hardware on the planet. Ukraine barely makes anything and is completely dependent on Western resupply.
7. External Support
Big difference 7: Israel's enemies have no military backing from any major power. Iran has no modern tanks, aircraft or any serious conventional forces and cannot resupply its proxies in wartime (the IAF has kept Syria's airports out of commission for more than 2 months). Russia & China are providing zero military support to Iran.
8. Self Sufficiency
Big difference 8: Israel is relatively self sufficient in energy (net exporter), food and military equipment production (and becoming more so). Ukraine is completely dependent. Israel is economically strong; Ukraine is a basket case.
9. Nukes
Big difference 9: Israel is a nuclear power with enough nukes to exterminate all its enemies in extremis. Ukraine is not.

It is amazing how many people equivocate between these two states, but as you point out there are many differences.
I could have gone on and on.
Israel and Ukraine have absolutely nothing in common other than currently being at war.
It would be hard to find to countries that were as complete opposites as Israel and Ukraine.
Calling the 21st century state known as 'Israel' 3500 years old is like calling the person begind the twitter handle Sargon of Akkad 4300 years old. The ancient country np longer exists and thr modern Israel is about 80 years old.
The exact same people with continuous presence in the land for 3500 years, following the same religion (Judaism), speaking the same language (Hebrew), celebrating the same festivals, with the same shared history in the same land.
Modern Israel is the RE-establishment of the ancient Jewish kingdoms which held sovereignty many times in The Land of Israel over the last 3500 years.
Many Empires conquered the Land of Israel but the Jews have always survived and flourished again when the Empires left.
Many Jewish families in Israel can trace a continuous presence for thousands of years. In key Jewish cities like Jerusalem there has been a Jewish majority for most of the past 3.5 millenia.
Judaism IS a 3500 year old civilisation and The Land of Israel is the ancient and historic homeland of the Jewish People.
A typical Israeli Jew can go to a museum and directly read in ancient documents such as The Dead Sea Scrolls the same core religious text (Torah or Hebrew Bible) that his/her ancestors wrote over 2000 years ago. He/She can read the ancient Hebrew inscriptions on ancient archeological items that his ancestors used and be completely familiar with the functions of ancient religious items.
The blessing prayer I say on my children every friday night is exactly the same as that written in Hebrew on a 2700 year old silver item found just outside the Old City of Jerusalem.

That's nothing. The more I learn, the less I know. I guess you would also consider modern Italy as part of the Roman Empire. I just don't consider these things as part of the same. Ancient Israel and modern Israel are not part of the same. It seems to me you are being intellectually dishonest with your defensive position.
You are just denying history and its importance.
Rome is not an Empire anymore but modern Romans are substantially the same people as the ancient Romans.
They are the inheritors of Roman civilisation. Same for the Greeks and Chinese. I think that the vast majority of Romans, Greeks and Chinese would think your position is ignorant and offensive.

Yes. I am Italian and also from the Roman Empire. The Italian Roman Empire exists to this day (Roman Catholic) .... The land called Italy is a little smaller (Roman Catholic much larger) ... the same way the land called "Israel" is a little smaller than it once was. Look at some old maps. Italians come from Italy as Israelis (Jewish, Hebrew speaking) come from Israel. As the French homeland is France. Israel is the 4,000 year old Homeland of the ancient and Modern Hebrew speaking Jewish Israelis.... their DNA is the same... Haplogroups J1, J2, E1, R, G ... 1st cousins to the Arabs living around them... sons of Ishmael (Arabs) and sons of Isaac and Jacob (Israel) ... both descendants of Abraham. Study History, Archaeological and Genealogy. It is very clear. The Israelites and Israel are ancient.

Another important difference is that UA begs for help and interference while Israel just ask not to be pressured to stop. We learned through history we can rely only on oursleves.
