Having a sick family member is really difficult. Not only do you feel pained for the loved one who is sick, but also for the others who are striving hard to do what they can.
My grandma was admitted in the hospital a couple days ago. She's diagnosed with Pneumonia and Tuberculosis. Actually, those diagnoses are a recurrence for her since she has had them years ago. I guess I was still a high school student back then, so around 20 years in the past.
Now, she is in the hospital. I and my family weren't able to visit her yet for we are busy trying to look for means to help in paying her hospital bills. My other aunts, uncles and cousins are doing the same. Those family members who are not working are the ones who are with her at the hospital now.
I think it's really important to be practical in the world today and that's what my family and I are doing. If we try to be swallowed by our emotions and rush over there every day, nothing will happen. Simply commuting to the hospital needs money, so instead of going, we send it to the other family members who are staying there.
My mama constantly communicates with her other siblings. They tell us what my grandma needs and what are the pending medicine to buy and those who have the capability to work do our best to find enough money to send there.
It's funny to think how misunderstandings within the family is being put on hold so we could help each other at this moment. If I am to be really honest, I still detest some of my aunts and cousins because of what they did to grandma before. Not only to grandma but also to my family who were always genuinely doing our best to help... even putting others before our own. They're the reason why I'm always stressed out because simply thinking of the situation is really a pain. However, I shouldn't be like that especially now.
I'm quite sure they hate me as well. I speak up my mind especially when I think what they do is wrong. I'm not the type of person who will just accept every criticism from someone just because they're rich or powerful. The rich and the powerful are not always right and there's no way you can use your riches against people who are real.
See what's happening now? Now that the situation became worse, you swallowed your pride in one gulp and asked for forgiveness because at the end of the day, no matter how you looked down on me and my family, you still need us... I and my family are doing this for grandma... and not to save your sorry butt.
Ugh! I'm still angry and frustrated!!! But I'll do what I can... because I love grandma (even if she also has her flaws). I'll continue to help and do whatever I can, but when you rot starts to speak ill about my family again, forgive me for what I might do.
PS: Sorry for venting out here again... this is just the place to be.
