If we look at the way technologies now operate most especially our mobile phones (Android Operating System) they have really improve the world as a whole. 90% of our mobile phone applications are been updated with one or two new things daily, weekly and monthly that improve our everyday activities and even our privacy.
Looking at our mobile phone in the area of privacy, much android application has been introduced that could enable us to lock every single application from performing one major task or the other either online or offline.
Problem Overview
Online applications are proven to be the best so far where the application can be updated with new things after every new development on the applications but the main problem is that it might be costlier in the area where it could consume much data after applying new changes from the internet but the best part of it, is that even without applying this changes, the application still continue working without any difficulty.
When the user data is switched on, some application keeps running from the background, updates that consume that valuable MB of data. While turning them completely off isn’t a good option,” and some run on automatic ads that could prove to be costly to user’s data bundles. And it is not advisable
Many users in the point of playing a game application, they can mistakenly click ads that appear on applications, buy/paid apps, make in-app purchases, pay for access to new levels, weapons and many more
That is the reason why many users prefer and desire to get an application that will enable them to lock most of their applications from accessing the internet connection even as when data is on that will also serve as a layer of security to them.
Introducing NetGuard
What is NetGuard?
NetGuard is a simple and advanced android application that enables users to block other applications from accessing the internet access with no root required. NetGuard is an application that allows its users to perform a task of denial to applications from accessing Wi-fi or mobile connection.

NetGuard is an application that allows the user to perform a denial on an application that blocks the application from background data usage.
Adding the new features will, therefore, improve the application.
- Data Usage Monitor
Data Usage Monitor-
I suggest the addition of a new feature “Data Usage Monitor”. It will be a very good idea when users are able to monitor the amount of data their mobile phone use throughout the day. This will allow users to be able to take account of their data usage daily and monthly and also be able to have knowledge on how to limit application access from the internet in order to save data.

NetGuard application as at recent gives the users the benefit of:
Reducing Data Usage-
By toggling off some unused application from them accessing the internet connection, it will save data than its usual usage when all application it’s working.
Saving battery-
Toggling off some unused applications from assessing the internet is one way of preserving mobile phone battery in the sense that some applications would be unable to run background data’s. It will make the battery to run fewer applications than running all installed applications.
Increases Privacy-
NetGuard is a lock application from accessing the internet / Wi-fi. This will disable the trafficking of application addresses. Luckily user’s personal data is 100% safe from third parties.
Adding the proposed feature will also be of a great benefit to the application:
Data Usage Monitor-
This will be a very important feature that will improve the application. For the user, it will allow the user to be able to view the amount of data been used by the application that is being granted access to the internet.
All data used daily, monthly will be in listing view on the interface, it will be of great help to the user that will allow them to deny much unnecessary application from using data through its background or any other process. This will allow the users to be able to save his/her data from exhausting quickly.
The Data Usage monitor will view the amount of data used on Wi-fi, Mobile and lastly the total of data used throughout the day.
Conclusion
The NetGuard will bring about more and increased adoption if the proposed features are implemented. They will definitely increase the application user base and improve the application as a whole.
