I'm spending most of what I earn here on my own project, I assumed 3spk gets decent rewards even at these prices being a top witness and all.
This overly defensive nature comes off weird, I'm sure you can understand that. Me mentioning a project in a one off comment partially is not going to damage your project's reputation. I admitted I was wrong about it not working or being underused and the comment I replied to was barely on topic to the post so I didn't vote it much either if you're concerned about visibility.
Either way, there's more influencers we can bring on chain and I know you and others have managed to do so and some are still here posting, even though they keep it a secret because of what bitcoin maxis would say or because of our low standing marketcap. The only examples of downvotes chasing away legitimate influencers I can think of is finallycrypto and Davidpakman, which I tried to counter for a while and received downvotes in exchange, etc.
It'd be better to focus our attention as to how we can prevent such issues in the future or re-evaluate how downvote mana works instead of whatever this was.
I think it’s weird for a whale to criticize an open source project that is providing a public service to all and is funded from the pockets of others without first asking to contribute in someway.
I do believe we have an issue with groups of people unfairly downvoting ppl. While downvoting overall is a positive to give to prevent abuse, there are plenty of people abusing their downvotes and I have heard of many legitimate creators leaving hive because of having been downvoted. The fact that hive doesn’t have any content creators left should be clear evidence that this issue is part of the problem. I also advise several legitimate smaller fish who are doing incredible work spreading hive to post from anon alt accounts due to them being downvoted. It’s a total joke.
For me the downvote issue will have consequences for those abusing it when they don’t get included in legit large LII token drops and other things. The behavior is onchain forever and those who abuse it are quite widely known already
Yeah most people I know that create content daily are no more here. Hive price value plays a role but yeah it also stems from the dvs. Sometimes it feels some set of people are targeted too. Like some people just vote out of spite rather than abuse. Even those that vote with good intentions don’t state that leading to some newbies not understanding the concept.
Also how do people dv someone who has been on the chain for years without explaining. @starkerz you’ve made a good point about dv. Maybe we could do another interview like the last one and talk more about this.
You just dm'd me last night that you were downvoted for legitimate reasons of mistakes you made yourself.
I’m not talking about myself
I fear starkerz may be talking about hivewatchers mainly, which I'd understand as they often do like to overreach, but other than that I wouldn't say whales "like to downvote".
bring forth some examples of legit influencers being downvoted so we can check how factual that is or what caused that to happen.
