Good Evening, Steemians!

I’ve never thought to use quinoa to make bread, but I came across this video by Saavy Menke of YouTube, who is the creator of the Microvore Diet (she’s awesome). She has a 2-ingredient quinoa bread (quinoa and water). She does add some spices, like salt, pepper, no salt seasoning, and nutritional yeast.

I took my homemade lemon hummus recipe and used the bread to dip in the hummus because I thought they would go well. Here we go!:

Start off with 1:1 ratio of uncooked quinoa and water (I used 1 cup:1 cup) and BLEND IT UP - Preheat oven to 400-425 F

Don't forget any herbs and spices you may want to use (I used one clove of garlic, basil, and Mrs. Dash No Salt seasoning)

Blendy Blend

Place on a circular pan with PARCHMENT PAPER, not wax paper, as it will stick

Blend one can of garbanzos, half a lemon, and a little water together (herbs and spices if desired)

Bake quinoa bread for 12-15 minutes on one side, take out, flip, and put back in for 5-8 minutes

This recipe rocks and is super nutritious if you know anything about quinoa (so much better for you than rice).

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

Looking like a Saturday night feast!

I'm trying this. thanks for the inspiration! Have a lovely day!

Looks great! When you made the dough did you have to proof or rest it?

No! Not at all!

Wonder what would happen if it was to rise a bit. The yeast might be able to rise it where you could make a shallow quinoa foccacia bread!!

I think it's delicious, thanks for the recipe.

Looking very tasty. 👌🏽

Looks delicious!

That’s really interesting.

I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but that doesn’t stop me from eating and enjoying VG food. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of quinoa, but it’s a staple in our home. We recently bought some quinoa wraps which were nice, and it got me to thinking about how one would make them.

I might give this a go, just for the hell of it.

Great learning post. I usually buy quinoa wraps, but I will sometime make it at home.

That's the bomb.. Someone brought me some bacon n cheese on my chicken Friday and I felt terrible afterwards... healthy food is the only way once you've educated your body

I really like this post vegansilverstack! keep it up!
