Our family did not go hungry, someone helped and gave flour. They baked bread and distributed it to the hungry. I remember vividly the moment from her stories, when she, being a girl at that time, approached a dying man with bread, and he, having bitten off a piece, did not even have time to chew it, because he had died before. God, please don't let this happen again. Now I understand some old people who survived hunger when they stock up on food in our time. “What if, once again, war!”, one 97-year-old blockade woman in Leningrad tells me, our friend Maria Vasilievna who is still drying crackers and bagging. Never forget her that terrible time when at the age of twenty she helped to carry the corpses of the dead to the Piskarevskoye cemetery.
This is the daily portion of bread handed out to the hands of each person.
