Payment is changing dramatically, from the hardware (use of NFC) to software (app/phone payment). Yet crypto seems stuck in 2014 way of wallet payment through QR. 10 years later, not much has changed.
The same way online with marketplaces and UX, payment process, passwords, etc. Even the nft marketplaces are not very innovative on the checkout process.
Changing to what way of payment if not QR on mobile?
Like modern payment systems at your Japanese subway or Dutch food store, contactless.

I mean you can always innovate, and create a new protocol to pay. But at least in Crypto, we haven't changed.
NFC integration is not difficult but those receiving devices understands certain type of data and you really need gateways to connect crypto to cash systems. Main blockers are regulations and banks that hinder innovation.
There are many things, for example imagine I want to sell an item online and I don't know if the visitor will use Bitcoin or eth or hive or wax or Solana and I want to have a payment gateway that support at least a couple of hundred chains/coins. Which software can do that right now that don't need to connect to an exchange? Open source and compatible with the main sites like WordPress or Shopify?
