Wednesday walk and Make me smile challenge collaboration results and Steem Basic Income Give away
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.
Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.
Actifit
A good App that works well in conjunction with the Wednesday Walk or any day walk is @actifit, which rewards you with Actifit Tokens and Steemit Upvotes, if you use the app to track your steps and do a post of your actifit total each day.
If you do a lot of activity I do recommend you check it out

The third Wednesday of the month out two challenges will collaborate so if you combine the two into one post you have double the fun
This weeks Wednesday Walk going a bit funky
On this weeks walks ( yes these photos are from a few walks I took this week), between the rain and showers I decided to have some fun and play around with my Lensbaby Trio 28 lens so the shots are a little funky, but it was fun just trying to be creative rather than getting good shots
Starting with a shot in the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza of the benches there

The lensbaby trio 28 lens is a fixed focal length and aperture and trio is a fun lens to play with when it's nice and sunny, but with the fixed aperture of 3.5 it's tricky to get good shots in darker weather, so these shots aren't technically great shots but I wanted to try something different and have some fun. so here goes.
This is in a little shop where I often pick up my breakfast in the morning and these colorful drink bottles caught my eye, I have never tried them as I do not have soda much these days.

Now in the dull weather I did enjoy playing around with the Lensbaby its kind of a toy lens, but not that cheap but compared to the price of some lenses cheaper, don't worry I won't be doing all my photos with it or the new Lensbaby set I bought last week but I will slip them on my camera occasionally when I want to play around and have fun.
And also a couple of made a comment they feel they shouldn't join Wednesday walk because they feel my photos are so good and their's aren't up to par, so this post is to highlight Wednesday walk isn't about great photos or sights but its about getting out walking having fun and sharing whatever catches your eye
This next shot is as I was entering my office building one morning, and witht he spot focus and blur it feels like working into a vortex which is kind of how it feels walking into work and having to get serious for the day, I do not do serious that well LOL

but I do not stay serious all day in the office I do pop out into the gardens a couple of times a day and this next shot is of a portion of the Old berlin Wall, which was donated and placed in the gardens

Steem Basic Income give away

the vortex swirly effect was done with the Lensbaby trio 28 Lens and the oil painting look was done in photoshop :)

It was fun to play around with this lens its actually harder in a lot of ways than most of my other les as is fully manual and a challenge to get used to but it sure was fun playing with it
Yes out building was recently fully refurbished so its in pretty good shape

I love the way that lens can make some scenes quite funky like looking into a vortex and wormhole

I love that shot of the Berlin Wall best! I think it is because I lived over there before and after it fell and as an American, I was shocked and wondered why the rest of Americans weren't appalled. Or perhaps they were and I was too young to know it? My heart wept when it came down and I moved there once again right after it fell, within months.
Oh, I guess here isn't the place to rehash.
The rings are a sign of unity when there isn't a tiff at the Olympic games. They just aren't what they used to be, yes? It used to be you could only represent a country if you were from there or lived as a citizen. Now, it is who's team can afford you. So, what is the point?
Not to be so negative. OMG. Your shots are always diving and I love what you are doing with the lensbaby. It gives it such a soft, dreamlike quality. So fun to play with!!

I think part of the thing with the wall is so many are so tunnel focused on what’s happening to them and do not look further than the end of there nose let alone to the wider roles so they are somewhat oblivious to what’s going on inthe world, not everyone off course and certainly not you and me, but sadly it is the case with a lot of people
As for the Olympics again I totally agree it used to be very simple you represented your country but only if you were an amateur, now that have relaxed both rues well relaxed broken away completely from the concept and that weakens the whole idea of the Oympics in my mind
Thanks for your kind comments about the shots I will enjoy playing witht he Lensbaby lenses from time to time its nice to do something different, even if n some ways its more challenging getting good shots with them than with normal lenses maybe thats what makes it fun for me

Ohh yes it is a cool toy challenging to get the shots one wants but that’s so what makes it fun, so much so I bought another one of their lens sets :)
This is great fun to play with your new lens kit.
I love that vortex photo. I feel the same going into my office - I mean it is not so shiny, but I feel I enter the vortex for the rest of the day. LOL
Thanks it is fu to play with even though getting good shots with the Lensbaby is probably harder than it is with normal lenses it is cool with the fun effects one can get
Love the swirling effect in first capture, does make it fun testing different shoots, anything makes a good topic, we see so much each day computing into our on-board computers filing ideas away.

Thanks and yes with the Wednesday Walk the only Rule There re no rules I have some guidelines but its all about having fun and sharing what you see so why not macros :)
That's good, because when I go out around here in my neighbourhood, I do mostly macro. However, yesterday we went out by the lake with my daughter and my grandson, so I have something for next week 😊
I do love seeing macro shots so feel free to join with them anytime, but that said looking forward to those shots for next week :)

What a fun lens to play with! I love that first shot of the benches. My son was obsessed with those sodas when he was in high school. They're very pretty but way too much sugar for me. Your office building looks so fancy!

They are tricky to get the shot you want but that’s all part of the fun
I used to bee terrible with Drinking far too much Coca Cola till a few years ago now I seldom have one maybe one small one as a treat in the weekend but not always

Thanks that one is a mix, the out of focus swirls sort of feel is from the lens but the oil Painting kind of look to the edges I added in photoshop :)
Ah photoshop, I used that too, for designing...
I use lightroom and photoshop to edit all of my photos as I shoot in RAW mode on my camera so I can choose how it looks myself ;)
I've heard of lightroom, but haven't had the chance to explore it yet.
I pay a monthly Subscription for it and use it extensively for all my photos its a bit of a learning curve but very powerful
I heard that before from a photographer friend.

Those are wicked fun and funky shots, @tattoodjay! I don't think I knew that you could buy a lens to do that, instead of editing in the special effects afterwards. That's a fun toy to have for sure!

Well I will be honest the camera does the out of focus areas is from the lens, the selective coloring in one and the oil painting look in the first one was added in photoshop
It is a fun toy but tricky to use to get just the right amount of effect and works best for me when I use manual mode which adds to the challenge but I think thats is what make sit fun for me

YEs exactly I took it this morning with me for a visit to the beach but never got to use it was such a nice morning I used regular lenses :)
