Weekend Walks And Giniling ( pinoy food)

in #weekendwalks10 months ago

I had been missing my #wedenesdaywalk posts but I must say that our weekend walk has becoming a regular part of our family bonding activities. The kids join us whenever they can.

Funny this is how we usually start our regular weekend walk around the neighborhood --- a shot of our feet :) It is like motivating ourselves that yes we can do this. Yes we are ready to kickstart our weekends with invigorating walks. There's something about stepping outside, getting some fresh air, and letting your feet guide you on a journey to observe and discover and rejuvenate. Here we got a peaceful neighborhood with quite a scenic trail to help us make time for a revitalizing walk this weekend. See nature and feel the positive energy flow. Let's lace up those sneakers and take the first step towards a healthier, happier self.

After that nearly exhausting walk it is time to eat our favorite pinoy food. My wife cooked giniling here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

500 grams ground pork or beef
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium carrot, diced
1 medium potato, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 cup green peas (frozen or canned)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 small red chili pepper, chopped (for added spice)

Instructions:

Heat the cooking oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat.
Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
Add the ground pork or beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon.
Stir in the soy sauce and tomato paste, ensuring that the meat is well coated.
Add the carrots, potatoes, bell pepper, and green peas to the pan. Mix everything together.
Pour in the water and give it a good stir. If desired, add the chopped chili pepper for an extra kick of heat.
Cover the pan and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the flavors have melded together.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
Once cooked, remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice or your choice of side dish.

Giniling! is a versatile dish that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with other Filipino favorites like fried eggs or served as a filling for tacos or wraps.
