埃塞人惯之的打招呼方式是先问好再握手（自己的左手同时需要握住右手腕），再碰肩再行三下贴面礼；礼毕之后再事无巨细地“问候”祖宗十八代。现在因为疫情，埃塞人的问候方式全变了，为了安全着想见面也只是简单的点头致意，无任何身体接触。平时见面常说的ጤና ይስጥልኝ（愿神给予健康），这句话在疫情之下显得尤为温暖。
