Hi Friends,
I was gifted a bottle of whiskey I had never heard of before – Uncle Nearest 1856 – so I thought I would share a little about it today.
This whiskey is made in Tennessee and is said to be comparable to Jack Daniels in the making of it – in fact, they claim their version is the original, but you know how those stories go.
I usually drink my whiskey straight (with ice) as a sipping beverage, but this one is almost too strong to be a good sipper at 50% abv, 100-proof. It also is sharp like Jack Daniels so perhaps it will make some great whiskey-Coke cocktails.
I will be enjoying this bottle for a while!
