A really nice piece, and such a bummer when it doesn't fire to plan. Must be more than a bit stressful. Especially the waiting. Probably doesn't help at all to sit in a chair and watch the kiln.
I really like your little add-on pieces. The idea of them being more of a free-form, organic look, like flowers, is a nifty contrast to the straight, box-like form of the piece/shelves.
I've got my fingers crossed it all came out of the heat as-should. If it doesn't , you can add the cracks to the intent of the art.. "Shattered Dreams" or something to that tune. OK, not the greatest idea I've ever had ( :

Lol, shattered dreams is brilliant, love it!! If I don't have to use it this time, I will next time this kind of thing happens. I only wish I had time to sit by the kiln as I did in college......we used to sit and bbq, eat, drink, hang out most of the night making adjustments to the kiln and enjoying the primal experience of the flames (gas kiln). That's the way to enjoy life and I'd really like to find a piece of that these days. Thanks for giving me a chance to reminisce a bit!!
We're hoping for the non-use of that name. There IS nothing quite like remembering back to fun those carefree, fun times in life. Really brings a warmth to the pit of the old stomach. I feel fortunate to have had many in my life. Sounds like a lot of joy, sitting about with friends, watching 'the fire' and tinkering and drinking and eating while waiting with baited breath for your resulting art to emerge. I hope you can find that little piece of joy again when needed. Life does get hectic, and crazy and fast. Oh, to have NO worries once more. Though I hate to admit, I WAS a bit clueless too, which probably added to the carefree joys as well.
Have a nice night, and hope your project came out in one piece. (I'll go look at your blog for an answer).

Oh good. So glad of that. Though I just saw it. GORGEOUS. Oy vey is right, It is SO hard to keep up. I'm supposed to be out mowing the over-tall grass right now...but here I am, commenting away. But what fun this is, rather than the mower.
Thanks for your kind sentiments, I do so love your comments as well. Very well written and thoughtful, and your humor is always greatly appreciated as well. This darn world is too darn serious for this bird.
