RE: Can male allies have a place in safe spaces for women?

So, what you have clearly outlined is that no man is welcome in women's safe spaces.

Men and women are sexual creatures. Women have been the subject of "centuries of sexual harassment" because men are the ones who have had to get up the courage to go ask the women to dance, to date, to marriage...

So, either women start creating a space where it is appropriate to ask them out, or everywhere is an appropriate place to hit on women.

Unless of course you mean for men to just go away.
And, if men just go away, they will leave women living in cold, dark grass huts.

Make no mistake, you have ruled out all men from ever being in your safe spaces. If you do not see it, then study logic, and then come back and read your post again.

I understand very well what you are trying to do. And, if you continue with this subterfuge, you will rue the day. You are saying that I only want to be asked out by top level men. The bottom 60% of men need not even bother applying, so go away. And so, these men are going away. And EVERYTHING that you feel is part of living in a modern world will go with them.

I suggest you work out things like proper places for male-female interactions to happen. And these places have to be frequented by women.

Thank you for making my point so well. You are the perfect example of engrained misogyny in society and I thank you for showing this so willingly in such a long reply. You are exactly the reason why women need safe spaces.

@builderofcastles her point is that men need to stop dismissing and ignoring women’s experiences and perspective. Your response is to dismiss her perspective and then blame women. way to go.

As a man, I understand how frustrating and confusing it can be to feel like the rules are changing and it’s not exactly clear what they are, and you don’t really know where and how you can be without offending someone. But lashing out with the exact behavior just described as ‘what not to do’ doesn’t help anyone, except to reinforce her truth, and reinforce your justification that you can’t do anything right so you might as well keep being an ass. Don’t fall for that. Actually listen to what is said, and if the gist of the message is ‘shut up and listen’ then it’s really not that hard to just shut up and actually listen. Try it.

I can't imagine equality because women have rights and privileges that men do not have.

Privilege is usually invisible to those who have it.
