Back to work mode again, and the usual blues are knocking. I don’t enjoy this feeling, and sometimes no matter how hard I try, I just can’t shake it off right away. So I do small things that help me move the heaviness out of my system, gently and consistently.
First, I go for a walk or a light jog. Fresh air changes the tempo of my thoughts. Moving my body reminds me that I’m not stuck, I can literally put one foot in front of the other and keep going.
Then I eat something nice. Not a binge, just a simple, comforting meal. Good food can be a quiet reset. It tells my body, “You’re cared for,” and my mind follows.
Sometimes I grab a drink, usually coffee or tea, and sit for a few minutes. That pause is where the noise settles. It’s amazing how much clarity a warm cup can bring when the day feels loud.
And I make time to socialize with friends. A quick chat, a short laugh, even a few supportive messages help me feel grounded again. Connection has a way of shrinking problems down to size.
I know everyone has their own way of dealing with blues and work anxiety. Mine isn’t perfect, but it’s simple enough to repeat. When the mood dips, I don’t force a smile, I just reach for these anchors. Bit by bit, the fog lifts, and I’m ready to try again.

If you’re feeling it too, be kind to yourself today. Take a small step, then another. The goal isn’t instant happiness, it’s steady movement back toward your center. Keep going. You’ve got this.
