Shaking Off the Monday Sleepiness

in #work5 months ago

Although i had enough time to rest yesterday, this Monday still managed to make me feel extra sleepy. It is like my body and mind are still stuck in “Sunday mode” while the clock is already shouting “back to work.”

Most of the time now, i’m just seated in front of my desk, staring at the screen, typing, scrolling, thinking. It’s strange how normal this has become, but deep inside i know it is not the healthiest way to live. A sedentary lifestyle might look harmless in the short term, but we all know it slowly affects our body and even our mood.

Because of that, i’m trying to be more intentional about moving. Even if my job requires long hours of sitting, i can still choose to stand up, walk a little, or do simple stretches. I also encourage my colleagues to do stretching every two hours, just to keep the blood flowing and wake up our sleepy muscles. It feels a bit funny sometimes, but it reminds us that our bodies need attention too, not just our deadlines.

I know that at the end of the day, taking care of my health is my own responsibility, not anyone else’s. No company memo will ever replace the small choices i make every day—like drinking more water, moving more, and resting when i truly need it.

As Jim Rohn once said, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”

Hopefully, i can manage to improve this aspect of my life soon, one stretch and one small habit at a time.
