"The 8+8+8 Rule"

in #work7 months ago

I'm about to start my new job on Monday, and I'm already making my final preparations for this transition in my career. I believe this marks an important turning point in my life. If I do well, it should reward me decently. But if I don't manage to make it work, it will certainly be disappointing.

That said, I won't put myself under so much pressure that it becomes unhealthy. I need to find a balance between my job and my personal life. It wouldn't be wise to pour all my energy into work and leave nothing for my well-being.

I believe it's important to achieve something meaningful in life or in one’s career—but it should never come at the cost of one's health and wellness.

A healthy work-life balance requires consciously setting aside time for every aspect of life. I was reminded of this when I came across a video that introduced the “8+8+8 rule.” It was my first time hearing about it, but it actually makes a lot of sense as a way to divide our time each day.

According to the rule, the first 8 hours should be dedicated to sleep or rest. This is crucial for allowing our bodies and minds to recover from the stress and fatigue of the day.

The next 8 hours should be devoted to work or career pursuits—whether it's a job, business, or any professional endeavor that helps us grow and learn.

The final 8 hours should be spent connecting with family and friends, engaging in hobbies, or nurturing our spirituality. This part of the day is just as essential, as it ensures we maintain a well-rounded and fulfilling life.

Honestly, it sounds difficult—especially since we often end up prioritizing our careers and sacrificing sleep. But ultimately, it’s up to us to manage our time wisely. With focus and effort, we can make it happen.

In the end, success isn’t just about professional achievement—it's about living a life that feels whole and balanced. By managing our time intentionally, we can thrive in our careers without compromising our health and happiness.
