I skipped a few days of posting, and honestly, it wasn’t because I ran out of things to say. It was because my head was full. This past week has been one long mental checklist, problems to solve, people to chase, and details to coordinate.
We’re entering that phase of the project where everything suddenly becomes urgent. More coordination with other teams, more follow-ups with vendors, more moving parts that can break if you look away for too long. It’s the most hectic part of my job, and it shows. By the time I get home, my body is here, but my mind is still in the office, replaying conversations and planning tomorrow’s next move.

What makes it harder is the bonus situation. I still haven’t received my yearly bonus, and it’s frustrating how much that affects motivation. Not because I only work for money, I don’t. But bonuses are symbolic. It’s the company’s way of saying, “We saw what you did, and it mattered.” When that recognition doesn’t come, it’s easy to question why I’m stretching myself beyond what’s required.
As Jonas Salk said, “The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.” And some days, that’s true. Other days, I want a more tangible sign that my effort isn’t just disappearing into the void.
Maybe this is where I contradict myself: I can find reasons to push forward, but it’s still a challenge. For now, I’ll take it one task at a time and celebrate the small wins, because the work still needs to move, even when motivation comes and goes.
