How to Make Other People Trust You Faster

in #writing6 years ago

Do you often feel like you can’t connect with people? That you don’t fit in? That the people around you don’t listen to you and that they’re not the right kind of people to be around with?

After many years I finally figured it out. In fact, I figured it out after reading this book.

In one of my previous posts, I talked about honesty and the courage it takes, to be honest.

I talked about how we’re constantly trying to avoid feeling the full spectrum of emotions. How we’re always trying to push them down. Pretend that they do not exist.

That is the exact reason we cannot connect with many people. That’s why we don’t feel connected to some of our friends. That’s why we sometimes have trouble connecting with people we just met. Let me explain.

I don’t know where this comes from. But I truly believe every single person senses when someone is being their true self. I have no idea how it works, but we just feel it inside, when someone isn’t being genuine. I bet you know what I mean.

I used to be one of them. I used to have this mask that I would wear. Trying to be cool and liked. All I wanted was to feel connected. Little did I know this mask is what was making me feel disconnected. The more I tried the more disconnected I got. It’s the ego trap.

The ability to connect with someone comes from being open and honest. It’s when you’re 100% authentic to your genuine self that the real connections happen.

You need to take off the mask and be 100% honest. You need to be honest with yourself and others. You need to be honest with how you feel, what you have and what you desire.

When you’re able, to be honest. When you have the courage, to be honest with who you are, you absolutely destroy your ego. The ego comes from being scared. It is constantly scared of losing its identity and it’s constantly trying to prove itself.

It is addicted to getting validation and it can’t live without it.

It can only be formed when you’re not being honest though. The second that you ACCEPT yourself, your feelings and your desires. You accept the present moment and the ego leaves through the first door it sees.

How to connect with other people easier

I don’t know where this comes from. But I truly believe every single person senses when someone is being their true self. I have no idea how it works, but we just feel it inside, when someone isn’t being genuine. I bet you know what I mean.

I used to be one of them. I used to have this mask that I would wear. Trying to be cool and liked. All I wanted was to feel connected. Little did I know this mask is what was making me feel disconnected. The more I tried the more disconnected I got. It’s the ego trap.

Emotional honesty is one of the hardest things someone can do in their life. But when we can be completely honest with how we feel and who we are. We find the lesson in the emotion that we are honest about. It’s usually the negative emotions that hold these lessons. It’s also the negative emotions that we always try to suppress and push down.

When we are HONEST with ourselves. When we admit to how we feel, where we are in life and where we want to go, we support the universe. We let go of the emotional blockages created by our ego and we allow life to flow through us.

The whole law of attraction/law of abundance is based on being emotionally honest. Many people say that it does not work. That’s only because they’re not being honest with themselves. They’re not honest about how they feel.

This brings us to the last and crucial part of this post. Connecting with others.

Earlier I talked about how people are able to sense when someone is being genuine. I think you figured it out by now that you can only be genuine when you’re honest. When you act from the heart and aren’t afraid to say what you like, feel, desire…

Honesty opens up the heart. The heart is what connects to other humans. The heart is what makes us feel connected to everything in this world.

The ego is what blocks the heart, that’s why the ego and an open heart, can’t exist at the same time.

Here comes the best thing of it all. The ONLY people you’ll be able to connect with when you’re being authentic. Are the people who are being authentic too.

Your heart will never feel connected with people who are operating from a state of ego (fear).

Your heart is the most precious and wonderful tool. In fact, it’s way more powerful than our brain.

Thanks for your time. I sincerely hope you found this valuable.

Until next time,

Benjamin 🙂

Compelling article. You make a lot of sense - the words rang so true I almost feel like I read it twice ;) - speaking from experience - being honest can be tough - in terms of revealing our inner selves - what you said about OTHER people being on the same level and being able to get it makes a lot of sense - there are some people that you can totally open up to and say anything to - but still - even though I am honest about who I am in my day to day interactions - I still don't open completely to most people until I get to know them - I have to evaluate if I am going to let them into my complicated time constrained life or not. Considering that I do a lot of public speaking - I have many acquaintances - but very few friends. That is by choice.
