My Weekly Stats & The Goals I Have For Next Week.

Ever since I Got The 5000 SP Delegation
From @fulltimegeek, I Have Done Many Things.

I got the 5000 SP Delegation from @fulltimegeek on 2017-12-17. And I have been able to see the exact numbers I pull off each week due to a the weekly analysis by @abh12345.

You can find the latest one here.

However, even though I appreciate all the work and time Asher spends to share these statistics, I've decided to make my own post. This would allow me to not only share the statistics with my readers, but also make it easier for myself to see what I have done, what my thoughts are and so on. This would literally function as a diary.

This Is What I've Accomplished Since Last Week.

WEEKLY.png

I have to tell you that the #stewardsofgondor are down on all numbers this week, but I will definitely not try to use that as some sort of defence for my own results. I just felt that it was worth to mention, as the downwards trend felt a little bit weird to me. We've had incredible results and we've gone up week after week, but suddenly, we're down.

However, you shouldn't overthink this too much, because things will always be up and down. You will have more upvotes one week compared to the next and the other week, you'll have more comments than the next and so on. That's just how things works when you're looking at numbers.

That being said,

Let's dive into this and look at my numbers.

All my numbers are down compared to the week before, except one thing. The amount of downvotes. I'll talk about that later on in this article.

If we look at the amount of comments and the length of the comments we can easily see that I'm down at first glance. However, if you take a deeper look, you'll notice that I am actually up in terms of length.

If we take the length of the comments divided with the number of comments we get this:

  • 41138 / 209 = 196,83.

The length is the total character length of all comments (excluding posts).

So I had 196,83 characters for each comment I made last week. Like I said, this week looked different in many aspects but if we take the length of the comments divided with the number of comments again, we get this:

  • 26861 / 123 = 218,38.

That basically means that the comments I have made have consisted of 21,55 more characters than the previous week. And that's a good thing if you ask me.

Moving Forward.

Even though I really want all the SP I've been delegated by @fulltimegeek to go towards the growth of Steemit and to reward others, I cannot allow myself to not downvote certain things from time to time. Like I've said in a previous article, there are no strict guidelines of how you should use the delegated SP and it all comes down to how @fulltimegeek interprets it. If he is satisfied with your results or not.

That is why I have continued to do exactly what I did before the delegation. I mean, @fulltimegeek must have seen what I do, how I do things and he must have been satisfied enough to delegate me the SP to begin with. - So there's literally no reason for me to not be myself.

He Believed In Me. He Saw Potential.

That being said though, there are still room for improvement from my side and I wasn't as aware of that prior to the delegation because I never cared to look at the statistics. The statistics are awesome in the sense that I can clearly see what I have done and with that, also improve or change certain things in my behaviour or in my approach.

  • And that doesn't happen in a blink of an eye.

You have to give things time and slowly change your approach. Otherwise, you'll quickly and easy lose yourself. And we don't want that to happen. I want to improve and produce better results, but I cannot change everything in a heartbeat.

Let's face it. It's easy to increase your number of comments for instance. All it takes is a few words. "Thank you for this article" or whatever, but we don't want that. I don't recommend or endorse such behaviour. We're looking for quality. Something that adds value in one way or another.

Even though a simple: "Thank you!", can mean a great deal for people, it's also not that hard to write something like that and it takes seconds. I have written comments that have taken me longer to write than some of my articles in the past. Perhaps not longer but they've at least taken me anything between 20 and 40 minutes. And that's why you cannot judge anyone based on the number of posts they have.

I have made ~4000 posts and I've been a member on Steemit since July 2016. I have seen people who joined in November 2017 with more than 6,000 posts. - I don't mean that these peoples comments are bad or short by any means... But the truth is, that most of them are probably just a simple "Thank you", "Good Job" or "I like this post".

I want more than that.

And meanwhile I aim to provide more than that, I also want to produce more comments in total. So it's definitely a "numbers game". I often skip to comment on articles because there's literally nothing more I have to say. And instead of saying: "Wow, this was great. Thank you for sharing", I often just ignore that one. And that obviously affects my weekly numbers too.

  • Just like it affects all of us.

Goals For Next Week:

I usually don't like to set numbers to work towards because I often end up miserable and sad if I don't reach the goals I set... So I won't do that this time either. Because it wouldn't be worth it.

However, what I will work towards, is to increase and improve my overall statistics to next week. And hopefully be able to produce more lengthy comments too.

Quality beats quantity.

Nice one

It's totally worth evaluating and presenting your own analysis on the numbers - especially if they are good like yours :D

Thank you for the kind words Asher, I appreciate it! :)

I think you're doing a fantastic job. Only reason I know you, kind of, is because you replied to a comment I had when I was a complete noob. You really broke things down and explained it to me. Where many other people would ignore me, you didn't. That right there shows what type of person you are. Now you have a supporter for life!! Keep kickin ass man!

Thank you very much for those kind words. I truly appreciate it and I am definitely thankful for all the support. Your comments are often very encouraging and uplifting, just like this one so thank you!

Hello @hitmeasap

When i first checked the stats report i was kind of wondering how come there's drastic downward in the chart compared to the previous week but when i read further i was able to understand the reason behind it and also why there's an increase in the number of downvote as compared with previous week.

One of the reasons why some tend to spam comment is that, they are too lazy to get the full gist of a post and they thereby looking for short cut just to left a comment. I once visited a blog of one of my followers that shared the experience of his dad's death and you won't imagine some still went ahead and comment "Nice Post" despite the trauma that he's passing through.

I know you have been performing well with the Delegated power and what i believe is that when there's a way to check one's performance, there's every tendency for adjustment, that's i love the idea of stat report. I know @abh12345 is doing a great job by quolating the performances of all the stewards but i think the idea of bringing up your own way is the best.

You are doing a great job and am not bordered about the numbers. Keep doing what will bring about those things that will bring about the promotion of this community as you always did and those things that will give you peace of mind.

Keep up with the good work @hitmeasap.

Best regards @funkylove

Wow, such a great comment. Thank you very much!

Numbers will always be numbers, and numbers will always go up and down. It's just how it works. What I liked the most about the statistics is to get a better understanding of my own approach. What I have done and how good results I had. That's the most important part to me.

However, I also love the reports because you're able to see how all the #stewardsofgondor are doing, and how much @fulltimegeek's generosity affects our entire platform. That being said, I still want to do a weekly "report" myself, as it will give me an even better understanding, but it will also allow my readers to see my progress in a better way.

Thank you very much for your comment!

Doing a weekly stats report will help you big time to measure your performance, though i know it required much efforts to quolate them. Wishing you all the best

Great goals! It gives me motivation👍
Keep it up!
Soon enough you’ll have ur own 5000 SP and won’t need to borrow👍

Thank you but in all honesty.. My plan is to delegate SP to others. I plan to delegate 500 SP for each 1000 SP I have. - That's my long term goal on Steemit. So I would love to keep the extra powers. :)

So nice of him and gz to the new opportunity and extra portion of motivation. Any chance he delegates some more?

Thank you. I have no idea actually. I bet he would but he has a total amount of 366,930.673 SP and he delegates -366,444.815 so he basically delegates everything he owns.

passive income par excellence

He doesn't rent out his SP. He delegates for free so he doesn't earn. He does it because he truly wants Steemit to flourish.

I didnt know delegating SP doesnt earn you anything. I thought it did.

The only way to earn by delegations is if you charge others a fee for the rental. And we've seen many Steemians who've been doing this. With various results.

FTG though, does it for free at the expense of his own potential rewards.

Thanks Ive only been on here 2 weeks, sometimes I find it a bit disheartening putting real effort into posts with little response. I guess the name of the game is persistence?

Yeah. I hear you and I've been there myself too. Actually, I am still there from time to time. All it takes, is time and effort. And heart. And more time. And a little bit more effort. :)

There are literally no shortcuts. However, the minnow support project, the different channels on discord and steem.chat is probably the things that resembles shortcuts. You'll be able to interact with others and so on, and from that, you can build relations. That's a huge help for most people.

Thanks for the tips, I will look into those!
