There is http://WikiTree.org which is like Wikipedia encyclopedia online but is focus on Ancestry, as in family trees, and it is free to join, and they have forums and I made my own family tree on it. But you are right that a blockchain focus and maybe even a cryptocurrency, as well, would be even better than just a normal website thing. I hope for the best for Wiki Tree and whatever they may do but we could probably do even better than that, too.
