RE: The Actor is not the Character

Very interesting. I think you raised a lot of good points. I myself write in a similar way, using words and statements like "perhaps," "it is possible," "maybe"...etc. However, I had not considered that when other individuals read our content they may ignore the parts that are speculatory and that they may conclude that what was said was a statement rather than a question.
On the other hand, I personally do not mind when writers take one side over another and I do this at times as well. In many cases I think that good writing poses an argument. Arguments often create discussion and push conversations and ideas into greater depths. They often force the writer to go deeper into their idea in order to defend it. As long as authors are open to other perspectives and do not get offended by disagreements I think that arguments can be a good thing. This doesn't always happen though.
Anyway, great article. Really got me thinking

I don't mind committing either. Sometimes. :)

The arguments themselves I don't mind but I would prefer it to be discussion rather than debate as I think it creates a better environment for change. I also commit quite readily but in general, any commitment is actually only based on what I know at the moment, and tomorrow I may know more. This leaves me by nature curious and open to learn in my opinion.

I have a tendency to play devil's advocate so I will commit to positions I do not hold for the sake of greater development. And because it is quite fun too.

Over all try advocae for individual curiosity and responsibility and thinking is a large part of that obviously so I try to develop texts that will get people to consider what they may not have before. To do this, I have to practice it also.

Thanks for taking the time and welcome back.

Very good point.
I also agree that an idea should only be held within the moment and that is should be disregarded if new information better explains whatever it is that we are talking about.
I look forward to more of your writing. Followed :)

Thank you, it is deeply appreciated.
