I don't mind committing either. Sometimes. :)

The arguments themselves I don't mind but I would prefer it to be discussion rather than debate as I think it creates a better environment for change. I also commit quite readily but in general, any commitment is actually only based on what I know at the moment, and tomorrow I may know more. This leaves me by nature curious and open to learn in my opinion.

I have a tendency to play devil's advocate so I will commit to positions I do not hold for the sake of greater development. And because it is quite fun too.

Over all try advocae for individual curiosity and responsibility and thinking is a large part of that obviously so I try to develop texts that will get people to consider what they may not have before. To do this, I have to practice it also.

Very good point.
I also agree that an idea should only be held within the moment and that is should be disregarded if new information better explains whatever it is that we are talking about.
