Good content is necessary...but never forget that Steemit is a social media platform above all...

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Lately I come across many articles whose authors seem to be obsessed about the great content everyone should have in their posts in order to deserve rewards.

And I won’t disagree with that. There has to be a certain level of quality in our posts. And just to be crystal clear...I mean to have proper syntax and the least possible grammar mistakes. And OF COURSE not to be plagiarized.

But other than that I see no reason why a very beautiful photography, or a challenge, or even a funny gif is not considered good quality posts.

Who is the judge to decide the level of quality in each post? Why someone who will upload a one minute vlog on Dtube or Dlive talking about something funny or his thoughts deserve more than all the rest I mentioned?

In my humble opinion if there is a standard quality any post deserve rewards. As for how much? Well...most of you know how things work around here.

For some people a payout between 1 - 2 dollars would sound really good, while for some others such a payout is...nothing.

In conclusion what I want to say is that, everyone should blog / vlog about anything that pleases him. And eventually...rewards will keep getting better and better.

Don’t forget that Steemit is a social media platform. Not a school neither a university. But a social media platform

Wanna post photos? Do it!! But keep improving your images. Wanna write scientific stuff? Go for it!! But do it properly, as the STEM community demands.

Just be yourself and stop thinking of what others might think of you or your posts. Each and everyone of us is a unique individual with different interests and skills.

And that’s exactly what makes Steemit community so beautiful!!

I’d like to know your thoughts on that, so feel free to comment. Be part of the chat.

Until next time...
Stay awesome!

i think the whole thing is about the payout. If there was not payouts then nobody would care. For example i think a profile that always uploads memes (that probably are stolen) or just a single photo per day isn't considered quality. About the photography one i am talking about photos of a shoe, of a bottle in general ''useless'' photo that show that the person just wanted to upload something. Meanwhile a single photography can have deep meanings ( μια εικονα χιλιες λεξεις)

Also it's not the same when someone makes general posts or in a specific genre and once in a while he posts a gif or meme. He doesn't lose his quality i think.

At the end of the day it's as you said what please us and if i may add we are the ones who casts our votes too!

I am 100% with you on that

Even though I don't really like to put labels. For example "he is a writer" or "he is a scientist"
In fact I would urge people to start posting about different subjects as long as they keep a standard quality. Imo variety matters!

As for those examples you mentioned...yeah there are also trash post around and of course I am not talking about these. I hope that's clear :)

strongly agree with your point of view...

Good to know there are people around with the same perspective on things..

Just be yourself, is a high art in the company of other people. Who knows exactly who he is. And maybe some and I do not have the right syntax or some grammar mistakes.
You're right, who should be the judge? In my opinion, no judge can decide about other people because he is a completely different person.
One person stops thinking about what others think when the other one stops being judge, teacher or professor. Why can little children sing so freely, speak? Many adults or teenagers can not sing and act or speak just because they are shy? Or were you formerly blamed for not being perfect or obeying the guidelines? Every day, young people get hours of knowledge and experience what's good, what's right. Often your own thoughts are undesirable, you are forced to quietly follow the lessons. Sometimes everything is buried in ruins and ashes. Maybe they dare to return! Good content that will happen anyway

I totally agree with you. I’m new to steemit, and it’s proving difficult to get people to look/engage in my posts. That being said, I will continue posting things which interest me. Hopefully in time, likeminded people will start to appreciate my material.

If you want my opinion it’s not enough to post. You HAVE TO ENGAGE. Tou have to visit ither blogs and comment and read what others have to say. That is how it works

Oh know, I totally understand that you have to engage with others. What I mean by my comment is that I won’t just change my material just to become more popular.

Sounds like a wise choice!
