¿Por qué escribo? - Why I write?

Hello Hive community, in today's world, we live in a hurry, intoxicated by what I call the "fast style life", it seems that there is no time for anything other than dealing with the routine, but yes, with more speed and less patience to wait for the "answer we are looking for".

Like a parody of the white rabbit in the story of Alice in Wonderland, with no time and in a hurry to get nowhere, life runs at the pace of stressful everyday life.

In that world, like that rabbit, I live, I regularly miss the sunsets, the starry skies, even the colors of dawn, even though I work from sunrise to sunset.

In that context, when I feel overwhelmed, I look for something to bring me back to reality, a kind of cable that connects me to earth, something capable of giving me satisfaction and a bit of respite. This is where writing, music, sports, any complementary activity fulfills that function.

In relation to writing the reasons that lead each author to write are as varied as the topics they address, in my case what I started as an exercise to manage the stress of everyday life, continued as an exercise in neuro-protection (this is an interesting topic that we will develop in another post) and then became a way in which I tell my relationship with my profession, and with life itself, thus little by little, has been structuring my role as a writer.

I define myself as an occasional writer, this is to clarify that I am not a professional in these matters, to tell the truth, I am quite empirical; I admire and respect very much those who are professionals in this field, but in my case, to writing, I dedicate some time, among my daily chores, also my "style" is still developing, it is the light narrative, that is, without complications of structures or very complex plots, short stories dominate, each one with an implicit or explicit message, is the part where I give advice that nobody asks for, but they are there in case someone needs it.

As a doctor, my experience is always linked to difficult moments for people, my patients and their family environment, conflicts of expectations, the proximity of death, are often recurring themes in my stories, where the human side and the role of human emotions in this aspect is highlighted.

I also write about overcoming obstacles, learning from experiences, the teachings of life, especially those that come from the hand of our elders, who without claiming any prize, in their time left their mark on our lives.

Finally, why do I write? I write for all the reasons already exposed and for many more that I have not yet found, I do it perhaps, to leave my mark, for now in cyberspace, diluted among the millions of bits, that furrow the infinite sky, waiting to be found, by some sensitive soul who knows how to appreciate it, or perhaps, to be found by some kind of cyber-archaeologist of the future, who scrutinizing in the scattered remains of an ancient planet, try to understand this strange civilization of communicators that we once were.
