When A Publisher Is Considering Your Work- The Waiting game

in #writing8 years ago (edited)

I have 2 books that are in the hands of traditional publishers at the moment. I am in that second stage where they have seen the sample manuscript, they like it and they want to see the full thing which they have received now. So fingers crossed!

What I did was write the back story for a pentalogy then I wrote the first book, and sent the first 3 chapters off to publishers with a synopsis and CV (which is the usual requirement) The waiting is painful and whilst waiting for any response I wrote a back story for a 2nd one and then sent off the first 3 chapters etc.

Anyway I got some rejections but 2 offers to see full manuscript on the first one I sent off! So I got busy working on adapting that ready to send off when another offer to see my other full manuscript landed on my doorstep- For the other book!

Are you keeping up? ....I wouldn't blame you if you wasn't my husband switches off with my rambling!

Anyway it is a big waiting game to go down the traditional publishing route, and disappointing when you get rejections. I will be waiting for a few more weeks I'm told. So fingers crossed!

It's all very exciting!

Good for you - no matter what happens, it's an accomplishment and so exciting! Keeping my fingers crossed and sending you positive energies!

Thank you lovely...I hope you are doing ok !

I'm in a frenzy of packing - we're moving in 1 1/2 weeks! (Everything else is kind of sitting on the back burner for a bit.) And right now I'm feeling pretty sore .... but doing just fine, thank you! :)

AHhh they say the most stressfull things are moving and divorce! Good luck in your new home!

It will be so worth it - more peaceful environment, although the new place is a bit smaller ... and the lake is 50 yards from our door! I'm so looking forward to it!

Sounds so idylic!

why wouldn't you go ebooms route? much easier

I wanted to go down traditional publishing route :-)

It's much more exciting this way. I may go down that route later....who knows!

I have heard the hassles of conventional publishing. Good Luck.

Hope you get it soon!

Thank you !

Sending positive thoughts for both books!
