Yoga - the game changer

Yoga changed my life

I started my journey with yoga about 2 years ago. I started because i wanted something different from the usual gym and weights. Never did i expect it to change my life or for it to open my mind the way it did.

Yoga and meditation has taught me to be present in every moment of my life, which is hard to do in a world full of technology. It has taught me to stop worrying about what is going to happen in the future, to stop over analysing what has happened in the past and to anchor myself in the moment.
We use yoga to become more mindful, not only of ourselves but of others around us. To have the opportunity to step back, think and breath about the situation and to go on in a calming manner.

Santosha "contentment"
Yoga helps to teach acceptance, which is easy when life is going well and according to plan, but when life isnt working out the way we wanted it to it is easy to get "stuck". Yoga teaches us to push through the tough and to find Santosha.
I find when i have a break and i cant do a pose as well as the practise before or im unbalanced or stiff and tight it can make me annoyed or angry. But i think to myself , i have two choices here; i can let go and breath or i can get frustrated and get no where. It definately doesnt come easy but its an amazing feeling when you conquer it.

So remember, breathe, try again and keep trying, listen to your body and trust your mind. For it can overcome even the toughest of fears.
Wheather Its over coming the fear of falling while trying to do a hand stand or falling forward on your face while attempting Crow pose. Yoga helps you to think "how much of this pose can i do" rather than "no, i cant do this"
Breathe through the panic and be content with the journey.
