ford Motor Co (N:F) said on Tuesday it intends to contribute more than $1.45 billion at two of its assembling facilities in Detroit to make electric, independent and sports utility vehicles, and include 3,000 occupations.

The No.2 U.S. automaker said it would contribute about $750 million at its Wayne facility in Michigan to make its Bronco and Ranger sports utility vehicles and pickup trucks, and contract 2,700 specialists throughout the following three years.

Portage likewise said it intends to contribute about $700 million at its Dearborn plant to make electric and mixture renditions of the F-150 truck and will enlist 300 individuals one year from now.

The company will start gathering battery cells for the F-150's half and half and electric adaptations at the Dearborn facility.

ford had recently said would contribute $11 billion to make 40 new crossover and completely electric vehicle models by 2022.
