One of the most curious things about anime is when sometimes after several chapters you realize that the protagonist or protagonists are not who you really thought they were, in some anime like Akame Ga Kill I realized who really was the protagonist almost at the end, but in others it did not happen so late. Saihate no Paladin is an anime from the end of 2021 in which during some chapters I thought it had several protagonists and that it was an anime whose story would be a little different from what it ended up being.
Saihate no Paladin is a peculiar anime because it is not clear if it is an Isekai because the character has consciousness and seems to have memories of past life as a baby but it may simply be that he revived in the same world with part of his memories although very blurry, the beginning of this anime is certainly curious, we are introduced to a child who is left abandoned in an ancient temple and is adopted and cared for by three creatures, a skeleton warrior named Blood, a ghost mage named Augustus and an Undead priestess named Mary.
In the beginning the story shows us how Will the reborn young man is growing and learning about this new world with his three tutors and protectors, although it is not made clear why each one is the way he is and why it seems that they are the only 4 thinking beings in the world, there are some ruins nearby, but everything is destroyed and full of monsters, gradually we see how Will's days pass, as he learns melee combat and magic while interacting with others.
After a few chapters we manage to explain in a somewhat vague way the reason why each of the three is a different creature and how they ended up like this and being the only conscious in the area, we also see how Will is now able to fight and defend himself alone thanks to the teachings of all but as it could not be such a happy story also shows how after certain events and battles Will decided to go on adventures alone and leave behind those who raised him and cared for him throughout his life, At the beginning I thought that the adventure would be of the 4 of them together and even that everything would happen in the ruins of the city but the unexpected result was something very interesting and that gave rise to a very good change of story where we will now see the protagonist more mature and self-confident undertaking a journey of search and entertaining battles.
In the end this anime ends up being based on a typical fantasy and adventure anime where we will see how the protagonist is finding more people on his way and how in addition to improving he must face different creatures and enemies where he often manages to win by very little and thanks to the support of his new companions, and likewise will be that kind protagonist who seems to win the love and trust of others quickly besides always wanting to help everyone he can although often things do not end up as well as expected.
The story of this anime is somewhat interesting and although personally I found more striking and even emotional story of the first chapters where he grows and discovering the past and destiny of the 3 characters who raised him, After that, the adventure story also manages to have a certain attraction and also manages to have entertaining battles as well as a good development in the strength and ability of Will, who although he has managed to increase his capabilities even a little quickly, he is still a young man who lacks a lot of experience and often ends up failing but with the ability to vindicate himself and learn from his mistakes.
The animation of Saihate no Paladin is not excessively good and can even be considered basic, in some moments it seems to have a certain filter that makes you think that it is an older anime, but it is not at all annoying this visual quality, personally it has a good OP which highlights the use of Spanish guitar which I think is not a very common instrument in the music of anime, currently has two seasons of 12 chapters each, although the first has a chapter 7.5 and also has an OVA. A somewhat low amount of chapters so you could easily watch it in a week if you end up liking the anime a lot.

Unas de las cosas más curiosas del anime es cuando algunas veces luego de varios capítulos te das cuenta que el protagonista o los protagonistas no son quienes realmente pensabas que eran, en algunos animes como Akame Ga Kill llegue a darme cuenta sobre quien realmente era el protagonista casi al final, pero en otros no me ocurrió tan tarde. Saihate no Paladin se trata de un anime de finales del 2021 en el cual durante algunos capítulos pensaba que tenía a varios protagonistas y que se trataba de un anime cuya historia sería un poco diferente a lo que termino siendo.
Saihate no Paladin es un anime peculiar por no terminar de dejar claro si se trata de un Isekai porque el personaje tiene conciencia y parece tener recuerdos de vida pasada cuando es bebe pero puede ser simplemente que revivió en el mismo mundo con parte de sus recuerdos aunque muy borrosos, el inicio de este anime es sin dudas curioso, se nos presenta a un niño quien es dejado abandonado en un templo antiguo y es adoptado y cuidado por tres criaturas, un esqueleto guerrero llamado Blood, un mago fantasma llamado Augustus y una sacerdotisa Undead llamada Mary.
En un principio la historia nos muestra como Will el joven renacido va creciendo y aprendiendo sobre este nuevo mundo con sus tres tutores y protectores, aunque no se deja bien en claro porque cada uno es como es y tampoco porque parece que son los únicos 4 seres pensantes en el mundo, hay unas ruinas cerca, pero todo está destruido y lleno de monstruos, poco a poco vemos como pasan los días de Will, como va aprendiendo combate cuerpo a cuerpo y magia mientras se relaciona con los demás.
Luego de algunos capítulos se logra explicar de manera algo vaga la razón de por qué cada uno de los tres es una criatura diferente y como terminaron así y siendo los únicos consientes en la zona, también vemos como Will ahora es capaz de luchar y defenderse por sí solo gracias a las enseñanzas de todos pero como no podía ser una historia tan feliz también se muestra como luego de ciertos sucesos y batallas Will decidí irse de aventuras en solitario y dejar atrás a quienes lo criaron y cuidaron durante toda su vida, en un inicio pensé que la aventura seria de los 4 juntos e incluso que todo sucedería en las ruinas de la ciudad pero el resultado inesperado fue algo muy interesante y que dio lugar a un cambio de historia muy bueno en donde ahora veremos al protagonista más maduro y seguro de sí mismo emprendiendo un viaje de búsqueda y batallas entretenidas.
Al final este anime termina estando basado en un típico anime de fantasía y aventura en donde veremos como el protagonista se va encontrando más gente en su camino y como además de mejorar debe enfrentarse a diferentes criaturas y enemigos en donde muchas veces logra vencer por muy poco y gracias al apoyo de sus nuevos compañeros, y del mismo modo será ese protagonista bondadoso que parece ganarse el cariño y la confianza de los demás de forma rápida además de siempre querer ayudar a todos los que puede aunque muchas veces no terminan las cosas tan bien como esperaba.
La historia de este anime resulta algo interesante y aunque en lo personal me pareció más llamativa y hasta emotiva la historia de los primeros capítulos en donde va creciendo y descubriendo el pasado y destino de los 3 personajes que lo criaron, luego de eso igualmente logro tener cierto atractivo la historia de aventura y además consigue tener batallas entretenidas así como un buen desarrollo en la fuerza y habilidad de Will el cual si bien ha logrado aumentar sus capacidades incluso de forma un poco rápida, igualmente sigue siendo un joven que le falta mucha experiencia y en muchas ocasiones termina fallando pero con la capacidad de reivindicarse y aprender de sus errores.
La animación de Saihate no Paladin no es excesivamente buena e incluso se puede considerar básica, en algunos momentos parece tener cierto filtro que te hace pensar que se trata de un anime más antiguo, pero no resulta para nada molesto esta calidad visual, en lo personal tiene un OP bueno en donde resalta el uso de guitarra española la cual creo que no es un instrumento muy común en la música de los animes, actualmente cuenta con dos temporadas de 12 capítulos cada una, aunque la primera tiene un capitulo 7.5 y también cuenta con un OVA. Una cantidad de capítulos algo baja por lo cual fácilmente se podría ver en una semana si te termina gustando mucho el anime.

exacto, la tengo en la pc para verla desde hace tiempo pero no he sacado el tiempo, muchos en lista y poco tiempo para tantos animes jajaja, aunque siendo sincero me hubiera gustado mucho que en la historia siguieran los 3 personajes que cuidaron y criaron a Will

Really interesting, I don't think it's an isekai because of the development that they put at the beginning of the protagonist or not, you don't make it very clear, at the beginning of the adventure. I think I could get to see it if I feel like seeing something medieval.

I think it's like a Semi Isekai, the main character is aware that he revived but he doesn't remember anything at all so he's like a prota more aware of things since he was little hahaha.
